Madrid's breadth and depth of nightlife is arguably without comparison anywhere in Europe. Where else, for example, would you see bumper-to-bumper traffic at 4 in the morning? Your average bar reaches its peak between the hours of 11pm and 3am, the weekend atmosphere carrying on into one of many ‘discotecas' until around 9am the following morning, by which time a hangover-cure may well be (quietly) calling your name. The choice of clubs on your hen weekend in Madrid is simply staggering, with everything from the dirtiest in house to the cheesiest of pop, and the local feeling towards a Friday and a Saturday night is that they must be grabbed firmly with both hands and made the absolute most of. Anything else is just not acceptable I’m afraid.
