Who Is Denzil?
He's the figurehead of our company and the coolest, baddest stag on the block. He's the inspiration and driving force behind everything Last Night Of Freedom do whilst also being a mix of father figure and guru to every person in our happy band.
He will be appearing throughout this website, often introducing special offers and deals, so it helps to know a bit about the stag who counts Noel Gallagher and Martin Bashir amongst his many celebrity fans.
Since being found by the side of the road after a near-fatal car accident with the Duke of Edinburgh, our Denzil has become the toast of Rothbury, a major player in the stag & hen industry, and a role model to aspiring singers everywhere by proving himself at Karaoke and local "open mic" nights following his miraculous and full recovery.
Rumoured to be from Hungarian extraction – there are also whispers that he is from Turkey – Denzil couples sharp, no-nonsense advice and brilliant business acumen with a delicious, pitch-perfect singing voice... something he claims to get from his mother’s side. Away from work, he smokes occasionally, adores Jack Daniels and plays a mean game of Texas Hold 'em. Our much-celebrated stag also does some spookily accurate impressions, favourites including Ronnie Corbett, Bruce Forsyth and Maurice The Butcher.
Did you know: Denzil actually got his name as a result of a viewers poll. He was inches away from being called "Sven". The other options were, "Desmond", "Boris" and "Cedric"!
Denzil claims total amnesia about both his roots and background prior to the accident, leading admirers to guess and openly hypothesise, though an admirable lack of stress or noticeable trauma has lead to his recently-acquired agent-cum-vet venturing the opinion that there is nothing lurking in his past to threaten his mental or physical well-being. In short, he is a deer friend who is here to stay.
The reputation of Denzil in the stag & hen industry is already so widespread that it was no surprise when he was recently invited to take part in a Radio 4 discussion on the changing face of the foreign stag weekend, wherein he brought Oliver Letwin MP to task over some highly contentious claims about all companies encouraging irresponsible behaviour. Denzil has also been asked to model for the centre spread of "Stag Today" as well as the front covers of "GQ" and "The Voice", though he had to turn down the part of Buttons in Sunderland Empire's production of Cinderella because of his commitment to our company.
Those who don't know him sometimes say "how can you put so much faith in a talking stag's head?" or "what's he got that one of those Billy Bass fish hasn't got eh?" But, when it comes to the utterly remarkable and totally unique icon that is Denzil The Stag, we simply feel blessed that he has saw fit to grace us with his irrepressible charm, dedication, wisdom and crooning. We just hope to be able to hang onto him for as long as possible before an inevitable film & TV career beckons.
"Hi, this is Denzil here. Look out for me popping up throughout this website to introduce tasty little deals and highly recommended locations. I heartily recommend that you put your trust in Last Night Of Freedom for all your stag & hen requirements. They’ve been really good to me – as well as over 60,000 previous clients too. Stag's honour!!!" (Denzil)
