November 2009 marks the 10th anniversary of Last Night of Freedoms first steps into the world of organising stag and hen weekends, a decade on and over 12,000 satisfied groups later we take a brief look back at the last ten years and also look forward to the next decade.
In November 1999 Matt Mavir launched a stag and hen advice site from his student accommodation in Newcastle, the plan was to offer advice and guidance but before long the calls were flooding in asking if Matt would organise their celebration, Last Night of Freedom was born. Much has changed since this first piece of media coverage opposite, but two things remain the same, the first being Matt's jumper and the second being his never ending dedication to customer satisfaction. With over 12,000 happy groups now having enjoyed one of our events, this is a brief look at how it's all happened.
In the past decade the company has moved offices no fewer than five times to accommodate the unforeseen growth which we have experienced, finally settling in Morpeth for the foreseeable future. In the beginning LNoF only offered packages in the UK but we pioneered locations such as Budapest and Riga and now offer over fifty locations with around half of them overseas.
Staff levels have soared from one to the current crop of thirteen but we have always maintained an individual approach to our clients and were the first website to feature the build your own tool, which allows you to tailor your own party and get an instant quote. In 2007 we celebrated sending over 100 groups away on one single weekend, a record at that point.
April 2008 saw the launch of our online novelty shop which has become something of a thriving business in its own right, quickly establishing itself as an industry leader, mainly due to the unbeatable range of products, great prices and top notch customer service.
After a record breaking year in 2009 confirmed that we are now more popular than ever as a company, even in this time of economic mayhem, we are confident that the next decade will see much the same as the first. We are always looking for new locations to send our groups to and new activities which they can take part in, as word of mouth spreads we are consistently organising more events year on year.
And so after a full 10 years in operation we find ourselves at the forefront of the industry and a trusted voice on all things stag and hen, perhaps best demonstrated by Matt's appearance on BBC Breakfast news in 2008. As time rolls on we constantly manage to provide brilliant value, both on our weekend packages and our novelty shop, as well as sound advice for people organising these events, long may it continue.
