The Movember campaign is in its 5th year and the lads at Last Night of Freedom have decided to jump on board by growing a moustache to help raise awareness and money for prostate cancer and men’s depression.
The idea for Movember first began in a pub in Melbourne, Australia. A group of men decided it was time to change the face of men’s health and encourage men to talk about their health issues. Just 30 people took part that year and only five years later it looks to have risen to over 173,000 participants from across the world taking part.
The rules are simple – They all start the 1st of Movember clean shaven and then (attempt) grow a moustache for the rest of the month. Hopefully at the end of the month we will have an office full of sophisticated gentlemen and not a group of men resembling the Village People.

Movember Week 2.
8th Movember - Stubble trouble
Nothing livens up an office more on a dull Monday morning than the sight of beautiful handlebars forming on the lads in the Last Night office.
The beards have gone and those with the ability to grow a moustache are well on their way to their dream moustache. We already have the makings of a Wagner (X Factor), Tom Selleck and Hulk Hogan - Roll on 30th November!
Question of the week: What is the best and worst thing about growing a mo?
Pauls answer:
- Best thing – The double take moment in a passer-by
- Worst thing – The froth off a milky coffee
Movember Week 3.
15th Movember - Hairy and scary
Week three is upon us and everybody is embracing their facial hair and experimenting with different styles. We have Paul giving the ‘Wagner’ a go and Garry and Matt embracing the ‘Hulk Hogan’ style mo! So far they have managed to raise an impressive £354 for prostate and testicular cancer, so a massive thank you is in order for all those who have donated.
Question of the week: Tell us something interesting about your tache?
- Matt – It is the greatest facilitator of celibacy
- Will – It keeps my top lip warm in the cold weather
- Garry - My mo is growing quicker than the hair on my head has in years
- Sean - It looks like my eyebrows have fallen down and landed on my top lip
Movember Week 4.
22nd Movember - Getting a bit messy
The end of Movember is in sight and with just over a week to go it seems some of the guys (Will) are growing rather a’tached to their facial hair. With mentions of bleach, hair dye and styling changes the last week in Movember could be very interesting indeed!
Question of the week: What has been the best thing about partaking in Movember?
- Chris - Looking like a douchebag for a month
- Adam - I like walking down the street, and seeing all these old burly blokes who’ve had moustaches for 20 years, and just giving them a knowing look, as if to say ‘yes, i have a ‘tache too’
Hairs to the end of Movember!
As Movember draws to an end and the lads are preparing to say goodbye to their facial fuzz. Big congratulations to them all for helping to change the face of men’s health, especially to Paul who managed to raise a huge £248 for prostate cancer and men’s depression!
Razors at the ready!
No longer a razor dodger
Unfortunately due to the incredibly bad weather Matt was unable to attend the photo shoot this week and Steve had some rubbish excuse about recently becoming a dad so he was missing too, but the rest of the guys lined up for their final photo of Movemebr 2010, many with a tear in their eye, roll on 2011.
