- Duration: 1 hour
Get ready for your own Top Gear in Berlin. Rattle around the capital in an iconic Trabant – Eastern European vehicle manufacturing at its finest. These cars are comedy gold – often referred to as a 'spark plug with a roof' – and are made from lightweight Duroplast. The design of the car has remained unchanged for years, most likely due to the fact they stopped producing them (somewhat wisely), and are fitted with a two-stroke engine and gear stick built into the dashboard. However, with a bit of hard graft and manoeuvring – you can reach speeds of up to 60 km/h.
You and your group will go on a guided tour of beautiful Berlin, taking in the iconic attractions and bar-strewn streets as you attempt to stay away from oncoming traffic. There'll be three people per vehicle, with one driver, and you'll have plenty of time to experience the sights. And, just in case you were wondering, these cars are easily repairable should you break down in the centre of Berlin…
