Get to grips with the Olympic sport of ice curling. And, speaking of the Olympics, this exhilarating activity is set at the Latvian Olympic Curling Team home facility – a venue that has hosted prestigious national and sporting events.
Ice curling is serious business in Riga – the city even hosted the World Women's Curling Championship in 2013. For those not in the know, ice curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice towards a target area, which is segmented into four concentric circles.
You and your group will have a professional instructor teach you the basics of the sport – such as on-ice instruction on how to play, as well as delivering the stone and sweeping the ice. You'll also get all necessary equipment and safety instruction, and there's a cash bar on-site. There'll even be an English-speaking guide and return transfers to take you to and from the centre.
