The wine from this particular Valencian region comes mainly from the hardy Bobal grape variety, which are typically fresh, crisp and appley – and, range from pale green whites, to salmon pink roses, to deep mahogany reds.
With this area having a combination of sparse rainfall (only 450 mm per year on average), a cool wind, known as the ‘solano’ and around 2,800 hours of sunlight per year – the grapes are nestled in perfect conditions for producing delicious wines.
Your experience will begin with a pick up from your accommodation, then a tour of the vineyard with an English-speaking guide who will explain about the eleven different varieties of grape present. You will also see an insightful demonstration of how the machinery used to pick the grapes works, then get to sample four different wines with your accompanying traditionally Spanish tapas lunch. Bottom’s up.
