LNOF Guide to Amsterdam

Welcome to the Pleasuredome.

Amsterdam is a city that misbehaves, and stag groups have long been enticed by its hedonistic spirit, lack of inhibition, liberal sex scene and legal highs. The infamous Red Light District is a carnival of vice - filled with raucous bars, hazy coffeeshops, outrageous strip shows and astonishing sex museums, as well as the notorious 290 red-lit windows of seductive Sirens waiting to lure you in.

Nevertheless, there is more to the Red Light District than its salaciousness – De Wallen (home of the main red light area) is a warren of medieval alleyways that intersperses erotica with bars, coffeeshops, clubs and performance venues.

There is also more to the nightlife than the Red Light District, and Amsterdam’s nightlife is one of the wildest in Europe - if not the world. Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein, both set in the Southern Canal Ring neighbourhood, are the city’s two premier places to party, with megaclubs and a dance scene that rivals that of Berlin.

In many ways, Amsterdam is a city of two halves, its nocturnal mayhem contrasted by a relaxed personality and a gentle pace. Amsterdam is famously ‘gezellig’ (a Dutch quality that translates as ‘cosy’), and it is often described as ‘a place where time stands still’. The café culture is a major contributor to this cool, calm atmosphere and cafés and bars spill onto the streets, where you can watch the world go by.

However, there are big differences between what we know to be cafés on English turf. Don’t get mixed up between a koffiehuis (espresso bar) and a coffeeshop – you might get a coffee in the latter, but these places are much more about smoking sweet Mary J. Smoking tobacco which, on the other hand, is actually illegal indoors in Amsterdam (the Dutch have prioritised well!). Brown Cafés are not cafés, but traditional pubs, named after their nicotine-stained walls – and although they shouldn’t be getting browner these days, new establishments are often decorated to give this lived-in feel.

Many of the Amsterdam stereotypes reign true: Amsterdam is a picture postcard city and there are indeed windmills, flowers, 17th century splendour and bicycles galore – though we imagine that you’re there for more than the tulips and the canal boats. Amsterdam is a place where pure, unadulterated pleasure is the priority – go and join the party.

Great party in Amsterdam. LNOF guys really helpful and all activities were enjoyable. Boat trip with stripper a highlight! Beer cycle good group activity though with 17 lads on board it was a bit slow! Canal and cycle staff really helpful and good fun.”

01/06/2016

The weekend was amazing!! Accomodation was absolutely outstanding and totally made the weekend what it was. Would like to extend a massive thank you to all at LNOF for making it what it was!! Thanks”

Good Weekend

25/04/2016

“We had an amazing time at Air nightclub in Amsterdam. The tickets were left at our hotel and we had not issues getting into the club. I would highly recommend LNOF for anyone organising a stag.

29/06/2015

Everything was great.

23/06/2015

“It was amazing!!! Thanks alot!!”

29/05/2015

Wonderful city - great activities - excellent service! Thank you very much for a superb Stag Weekend! We had a blast!

27/05/2015

“I would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Last Night of Freedom! They have been professional and extremely efficient from start to finish! From superb and well priced activities to top quality accommodation and transfers around Amsterdam... All the boys in our group of 12 had a fantastic time both zorb footballing and beer biking. The Hostel was very clean and welcoming with key cards and cleaners, while the transfers were almost luxurious with top air-con and comfy seats. Would certainly use this company again and recommend them to all! Well done LAST NIGHT OF FREEDOM!!!!

12/05/2015

LNOF service always awesome and Amsterdam is a great location for a stag do. The Beer bike and Private boat are great, however I wouldn't recommend the stag meal at this location. Amsterdam is an awesome city but pricy. I've used LNOF twice now and would use them again for sure.

31/03/2015

“It was straightforward we just had to be somewhere at a certain time and just went from there! ”

11/02/2015

Amazing!!

20/08/2014

“Amsterdam was a fantastic destination for a stag do and the Last Night of Freedom team did an excellent job in organising everything. Chris from the LNOF office was always punctual in his response to any questions I had and went above and beyond by sending through recommendations of good pubs and clubs, and giving us extra free beer vouchers and free casino entry. The activities were exactly what we expected, with the party beer bike a particular highlight. I'd certainly recommend going to Amsterdam for a stag do and booking with Last Night of Freedom.

27/07/2014

“Amazing stag in Amsterslam! Great customer service from the chaps from Last Night of Freedom. We will book with them again.”

12/06/2014

“Great location for a stag do! Many parks around Amsterdam which enabled us to have a picnic and play soccer freely. Very friendly people in Amsterdam, great service in restaurants & bars eventhough we were a group of 18. ”

06/05/2014

“Staff on the ground extremely helpful.”

19/03/2014

“We had a great time in Amsterdam for our stag weekend. There's plenty to do and the weather was perfect. I found the staff from Last Night of Freedom very helpful when we had a few hiccups (change in numbers, last minute change of address).
The bar crawl was a great choice as it meant our large group of 19 had no problem getting in to any of the pubs. The strip booze cruise was hilarious although the booze was pretty limited (only heineken) but free flowing.
Overall we were very happy with the service provided and will definitely be recommending Last Night of Freedom to our friends.”

10/09/2013

“LNOF were very straightforward to deal with, and helped organise a fantastic weekend. Have used them 3 times now and never been let down. Amsterdam was great, but you need a lot of Euros to enjoy it properly! We went on the party bar crawl and pedalo treasure hunt - both perfect Stag activities. Would also recommend Cau (steakhouse) for food, and Players Bar for drinks.”

16/07/2013

“We had a great weekend in amsterdam and pick up and drop off times were spot on. The stag had a great weekend and we were able to humiliate him to the highest possible standard.
We will deffinatly be returning. Hotel was in a central location with plenty of activities within a short walking distance

27/03/2013

“The staff couldn't have been more helpful and made sure everything ran like clockwork. I would definitely recommend last night of freedom to anyone looking to organise a lads or girls trip away. We'll definitely be returning!
Thanks again to Chris Rawlinson who helped us with everything”

19/03/2013

“Amsterdam is a fantastic place to go for a stag weekend with a wide variety of things to do. Last night of freedom were excellent in organising the weekend for us and the local Dutch agengts were helpful from start to finish. Excellent all round!”

04/02/2013

The service was excellent as was the bar crawl. Can't fault it at all or at any stage. Glad I paid a bit extra for the pros to do the job than trying it myself. Cheers. ”

11/09/2012

“Great stag in Amsterdam - The Last Night of Freedom team were very helpful and the accommodation was really good. ”

10/07/2012

The service was ok but the rooms left a lot to be desired. There was no natural light the breakfast was not what I expected and the bathroom was just about ok. The hotel was more like a hostel. The only good thing was the location”

23/05/2012

Had such an amazing weekend the hostel is so secure and rooms where just what you want for a stag weekend all clean sheets in packaging in a decent sized room. Really central easy access to town all walking distance.

On second night made most of free casino entry started the night there. Shooting was brilliant with a 2mm and then a magnum was amazing such a buzz then relax in bar afterwards. My only disappointment was taxi transfer did not show up and had to phone plan A rep (she was lovely by the way ) but it meant we missed out on about 1hr of are Friday night out. But all in all was one of the best weekends of my life highly recommended :) yea buddy!”

27/03/2012

The Highland games activity was fantastic and much better than described. It was more a water based assault course and amazing fun. You should add to bring spare clothes in the description!!!(you will need them). Only reason I would mark Amsterdam down is COST, the price of a pint can be 9 euros in some bars which is like nearly £8 Mental.”

20/09/2011

“Excellent weekend!! Wicked laugh!! Good hotel location!!”

19/07/2011

LNOF saved me loads of time and effort in organising the weekend and everything they had organised went smoothly while we were there. We gave the big man a classic send-off. ”

07/06/2011

The whole operation ran smoothly - from airport transfers to the booze cruise, everything worked out perfectly. Just a shame the stag can't remember half of it!

I cannot recommend highly enough the booze cruise, best way to see Amsterdam is from the canals and unlimited beer too! ”

24/03/2011

Great time, thanks.

Everything was as advertised. Hotel was well-located and clean. Amsterdam is an expensive town though!

10/02/2011

“NO COMMENTS AVAILABLE”

16/11/2010

We had the best weekend ever. There was so much to see and do. All the staff of Last Night of Freedom were very friendly and helpful. There was no way I could have organised the trip without their help. It was that great that we are all already talking about planning another visit next year!

I have to say a big thank you to Adam Cutts who helped me out so much with the organisation of it. Great work guys, keep it up :) ”

13/07/2010

The service provided were excellent, despite changing our travel plans (twice) 'LNOF' Amsterdam adjusted our pick up time and collection point. The activities merged seamlessly, because of the friendly and knowledgeable staff my entire group had a fantastic time.”

21/05/2010

Loved it! Accommodation was simple, but that didn't really matter, as we were out all the time anyway! Lots to see, lots to do. Well worth every penny spent.”

14/04/2010

Really good weekend and i think everyone has to go stay at this classy hotel !!!!!!”

02/04/2010

Great venue for a stag do. Locals are very friendly, plenty to do and see and although a tad expensive, lots of alcoholic options. Budget hotel is basically a hostel but took care of the essentials. Quality service from LNOF too - much appreciated.”

30/09/2009

“Merlijn, our contact in Amsterdam was excellent - very helpful and contactable.”

22/07/2009

“We took part in the pub crawl treasure hunt and it was a really good laugh. I think that it should incorporate a few more things to up the drinking slightly. All in all it was excellent. ”

10/06/2009

Weekend was absolutely brilliant. Amsterdam has to rate as one of the best places I have been. The locals are so friendly and the city is beautiful.

We only booked our accomodation through Last Night of Freedom but it was exactly what we wanted - a stag party friendly place to crash. We sorted our own public transport and activities and LNoF were still really helpful and offered suggestions etc. Only minus was cost but that is because of the Euro/Pound ex-rate at the mo (Jun 09). Would def recommend.

08/06/2009

We all enjoyed our weekend in Amsterdam, the one problem we all agreed on was the price of alcohol. Some places charged seven euros for a pint.”

06/05/2009

“Great weekend. We all highly recommend Amsterdam and LNOF for a stag party. I wouldn't recommend the budget hotel though, I would recommend paying the extra money for 3* accommodation.”

10/09/2008

Good stag destination and hotel fit for purpose although breakfast a bit limited. Good customer service from office and local rep. Voucher book could do with a bit more specific information. ”

04/06/2008

My weekend was absolutely perfect, loved every minute of it. thought there might be hassle with there being so many of us but it was wicked and everybody loved it. THANKYOU so much for everything. Rob”

02/06/2008

We had an amazing time the hotel was clean and friendly and the shooting range was great – if you’re lucky enough to meet the mini bus driver that picked us up from the hotel and took us shooting you won’t forget him, in one word a total legend! ”

13/05/2008

“Very Happy with everthing except the meal which changed venues late on adn was not great.”

03/05/2008

Shooting activity was awesome. Free pool as well. Just the thing to enjoy with a beer when reliving your Dirty Harry experience!”

02/04/2008

“Great weekend and great activities. ”

01/04/2008

“basic accommodation, but all we needed, we didn't spend long sleeping!”

02/11/2007

“I had organised the shooting and VIP tickets to the nightclub. Shooting was great, the place was very seedy looking but this all added to the atmosphere, and the staff were dead sound. I would definitly do this again!!.

Unfortunatly the nightclub was hosting an RnB night on the night we had booked which didnt suit anybodys taste but all in all it was still a fantastic weekend, the shooting (and the red-light of course!) being the highlights!.”

31/10/2007

“When i booked the stag night, my initial choice of paintballing was full! However, the guys at last night of freedom organised me a day of go karting and for a reduced price aswell, due to the inconvenience. It was brilliant. I have memories that will last a lifetime and i am nothing but thankfull that i chose Last Night of Freedom!!!

Cheers, guys! Tom Pickford (EX STAG) P.S, choose the Go Karting, it's f***ing awsome!

31/10/2007

Snowboarding was excellent Winstons Nightclub is rubbish. Dont go.”

31/10/2007

“Very well organised, in fact am using LNoF for my own stag do..

20/11/2006

“Friendly, no bother from anyone when you are in a group. Great weekend all round!”

01/11/2006

“The dam was great, hotel was basic but a great laugh!”

26/10/2006

“A MAD EXPERIENCE FOR ANY STAG. UNBELIEVABLE BUT COSTLY!”
