How To Plan A Hen Night - During the Event
Ok, so you have now read the before section, now you need to know what to do during and after your hen night.
During Your Hen Night
You've done the leg-work, you've scaled the mountain and brought the whole thing to life...IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING! Now, a few things to remember so as not to risk all your effort going down the plug-hole...
The group will arrive at the hotel, unpack their belongings, and probably head for the bar to formally christen the weekend. It may sound daft to mention such an obvious thing but we urge you, the organisers, to make sure that no-one is in any doubt as to who the weekend is for. The hen is a special friend of yours and should never be in any doubt from the minute she sets off on the Friday that it is her time. Take this arrival opportunity to remind everyone that the weekend should be full of impromptu speeches and toasts, private words of encouragement, stories and good cheer.
Did you know: You can totally tailor your hen party using our automated system?
She must never be left alone for a second, and inform the group of the importance that she herself places on the itinerary of events and reservations that you all have in front of you. Most of those present won't need any reminder of this at all, but you always have one or two in a large group who might go AWOL and say that they didn't know what was happening. It would be a good idea to run through the timetable of events when the group are first together in the hotel bar, giving specific times for the activities and names of any Restaurants or Nightclubs. Get some commitment to you all sticking together and not breaking off into smaller groups, and also - hoping not to come across as a holiday rep too much by now - make sure at this juncture to introduce everyone, particularly if it's a large group.
You might want to check to see if everyone has their T-shirts (presuming this is part of your weekend) or their costumes, breaking the ice early for any quieter ones or those who don't actually know many people outside of the hen herself. If there are any Themes or Forfeits on the agenda, now is a good time to underline them and make sure all understand how they're going to work.
You've doubtless done most of this in bits and pieces before departing for your chosen city, but going through the basics in a group will get rid of any lingering inhibitions that some may still have. If there are any teams or pairings required as part of any forfeits, you might wish to settle on those at this point too. If you can get a few pairings of people who didn't previously know each other very well, this again will help the atmosphere and bonding of the group, which all builds the positive vibe for Her Majesty of course!
The other as-it-happens regulatory measure you might benefit from using is to make sure, when it is approaching 10pm and the group is threatening to splinter only because some of their livers are, that everyone knows both the name of the club you are all heading for and where it is. Once inside, you could do with reminding as many as you can of the name of the hotel and its location, particularly anyone looking like they are unlikely to last the distance.
By then, your impressive work is done, and with any luck you can celebrate with a few drinks of your own and the best bit of dancing the club has ever seen!
