Benidorm is back in the game

With the magnificent peaks of the Sierra d'Aitana, the alluringly golden beaches and consistently great weather, there was always the chance that if the powers that be stopped catering exclusively for those who hate having to eat, see or smell anything remotely non-British when they're abroad, and concentrated instead on injecting some of the music, dining and clubbing attitudes more commonly associated with the Balearics, Benidorm could be a very appealing town indeed. Well, believe us, things just got a whole lot better.

Yes, this is a resort which until recently was only known for the wrong kind of wildness. However, Benidorm hen weekends no longer mean lobster-red 18 year-old wannabe-slappers vomiting their innards over white boots and gold handbags. You can, instead, look forward to spending your days on Poniente Beach, your early evenings in a charming Old Town restaurant, and your late evenings in a series of exciting – and credible - bars, clubs and "superclubs", predominantly in either Levante Beach or Avenida Mallorca. Benidorm has a lot of time to make up for – and it’s certainly going about it in the right way!

Benidorm Information

Expect beautiful, warm weather, palm trees, tasty snack bars, colourful gift shops, stonkingly strong cocktails and pedallos on a hen weekend in Benidorm. Expect boat tours, amusement parks, water slides and gorgeous waiters. Expect to stand in awe as you gaze up into the mountains, promising yourself a return trip just so you can explore their many hidden delights.

Expect Levante Beach to be banging - an area with more appealing drinks promotions than there are grains of sand. And, above all, expect rollicking good hen weekends of sun, sea air, bonding, sangria-influenced girlie declarations of undying friendship, neon-lit watering holes, big and flashy showbars, pleasant and tasteful restaurants, the occasional passing Lothario on a white moped ("You are sooooo byoootiful, signorita"), dancing furiously until sun up, air-conditioned hotel rooms, balconies looking out across the Manhattan-esque skyline, monster pop tunes in devilish discos, dressing-tables littered with unused flyers and torn nightclub ticket stubs… and those greedy little white pigeons that would eat from your hand until they burst if you let them. Oh, and God-like male strippers - if you ask us nicely!
