Hen Weekends in

Newquay
Brads, Boards and Bars

As Britain’s surfing capital, Newquay has that chilled-out, beach vibe that makes you feel like you’re truly on holiday. It has a festival feel about it – eclectic pubs, bars and clubs to suit everyone’s tastes and tanned, relaxed, delightfully inebriated individuals letting the sun (and drinks) go to their merry heads.

Newquay

Bondai Beach meets Bournemouth with a few backpackers thrown in.

With a personal, communal feel, marvellous beaches, a laid-back, distinctly non-pretentious set of inhabitants, a relatively agreeable climate and the occasional bronzed young surfer, it’s not hard to see why Newquay hen weekends make so many shortlists. This is like one big village, where friendly sporty types mingle with chilled-out tourists in hassle-free bars and simple cafes, the popularity of the nightlife perhaps partly down to the scarcity of strip clubs and soulless chain pubs that often make other city centres blend into one.

Though the town is famous for its surfing culture, that doesn’t mean you’ll be surrounded by talk of waves, hair and the merits of aftersun on your hen weekend. There are loads of great cafes, copious amounts of gift shops and enough intriguing little stores down pleasant side streets to give the town an unforgettable identity of its own. With a passion for live music, dancing and dining out – there are several stylish yet value-for-money restaurants - Newquay’s choices in what to do and where to do it are as broad as the shoulders of those occasionally-seen bronzed young surfers!

You can expect an especially friendly atmosphere on your Newquay hen weekend, most of its visitors predominantly "outdoor" people who like nothing better than putting the seal on an energetic day of sport and activity with a few hours of serious socialising in the bars and clubs that overlook the sea. Talking, surfing, drinking and boogying are in the top five passions of those spending their weekends in the south coast’s own Hawaii (!), so you can look forward to a candle smoking away at both ends for the duration of your stay.

People are too chilled-out in Newquay to go about causing trouble or ripping you off, so the pace – when you aren’t flying around on the water or bumping into each other on an off-terrain racecourse somewhere – is agreeably laid back during daylight hours. From the moment you sit down to eat in the early evening though, things change slightly. The vibe is to stay with it and leave any recouperating or charging of batteries until you’ve long since waved goodbye to the coast and emptied the sand from your shoes. Go for it and you’ll fit right in. Hold back on yourself and you’ll miss the tide.

“The cocktail making class was great! Kia was fantastic and got us all back into the partying spirit after we turned up rather hungover from our sat night out. ”

The weekend was fab and we had a great time apart from the fact that the staff in the hotel were very rude.”

“Arrived at the hotel - fab location, car park and train station across the road :-) Also Aldi underneath hotel and Asda nearby!!! More importantly bars, bars, and more bars all within walking distance. Did think accommodation was a bit poor as a few from our party room was not ready in the end the receptionist had to come and sort the room out around nearly 3 hours later!!!! However this did not put us in a downer!! All in all I would what a fab weekend and the dance class booked was fantastic - would highly recommend - Thanks :-)”

We had a great weekend, had a night in Friday night in the brilliant apartments, then on Saturday done a zip wire, then went out to Fistral beach at night then into Newquay town.”

The weekend was absolutely fantastic; from the moment we booked and paid the deposit to the moment we got home. There was lots of laughing, drinking and chatting. The only thing I would say but it's not a negative, is that in the restaurant we had one long table, I would have preferred either a round or square so we could all chat. I would recommend Last Night of Freedom. The SPA day was perfect exactly what was needed after a weekend of drinking - clean, friendly and very efficient. WELL DONE and thank you for helping me make the weekend special for everyone.”

The hen weekend was brillant and that is thanks for you guys. Accomdation amazing for what you expect for a hen party...def a good 3 star...food was amazing in the resturant you gave us....cant thank you for enough....Only negative is the location of the hotel, not walkinh distance in high heels.....but the view of the sea from the room, food and quality bedrooms i cant moan about.”
