Travelling to London

England’s capital city, in the South-East of mainland UK, is one of the biggest cities in the World. Its air, road and rail connections mean that it’s one of the easiest places to get to from wherever you are in the rest of Britain or Ireland.

By train, you can get there in 1hr 30mins from Birmingham, 5hrs 15mins from Glasgow, 2hrs 15mins from Manchester and 2hrs 20mins from Sheffield.
Take the A1/M1 route if you’re driving from the East, the M6 to M1 if you’re coming from the West, the Midlands or Glasgow, and the M4 if you’re going from South Wales, Bristol or Wiltshire.
London has 3 major international airports – Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW) and Stansted (STN) – as well as having London City Airport (LCY) and nearby Luton Airport (LTN) to utilise too.
