Travelling to York

The famous old market city of York sits in the North of England. It is easy to get to from just about anywhere, whether by road, rail or air (it is not far from Leeds-Bradford airport).

By train, from London it takes 2hrs, from Manchester it takes 1hr 30mins, from Birmingham this is 2hrs 20mins and from Glasgow it’s 3hrs 30mins.
If you’re driving, take the A1 from Edinburgh or Newcastle until you hit the A59, take the M62 to A1 then the A64 if you’re heading from Liverpool or Manchester, the M1 until you hit the A1 if driving from Birmingham, and the A1 all the way up from London.
If you want to fly, nearby Leeds-Bradford International Airport (LBA) is the best bet with flights from the UK and Ireland.
