Staff, stag groups and locals mix with an ease and understanding that tells you they’ve all been doing it for years. There is no drinking snobbery here, just a belief that the city is taking care of us and encouraging all and sundry to go with the flow. Eat, drink and be very, very merry.
But it’s not just the pubs, since this is a place with bundles of must-see landmarks, blindingly tasty diners or restaurants, splendid activity centres and scintillating strip clubs… If God had a stag weekend, he’d probably have it in Edinburgh.
