How To Get To Birmingham

Travelling to Birmingham

Birmingham is the UK’s second largest city, sitting right at the heart of the Midlands and reachable by several major motorways, rail links and its own international airport. The traffic is notoriously slow in and around Birmingham though, so allow plenty of time for delays if you’re coming by road.

  • By train, it takes 1hr 30mins from London and 4hrs 15mins from Edinburgh.
  • The main roads connecting to Birmingham are the M5 from Bristol, the M1 from London and the M6 (via the M74) from Glasgow.
  • There are constant national and international flight arrivals at BHX, Birmingham International Airport.

Check our up-to-date travel planner below for details on all connections.
