The city of Bristol lies in the south-west of England, horizontally west of London and the same distance from Birmingham as it is from the capital. It is reachable by road, rail and air.

By rail, it takes 1hr 30mins to get there from London or Birmingham, 5hrs 30mins from Glasgow and 2hrs 45mins from Sheffield.
The main two motorways that take you into Bristol are the M4 via Swindon (or Cardiff) and the M5 via the Midlands or Cornwall.
