Travelling to London

England’s capital city is one of the biggest cities in the world and lies in the South-East of mainland UK. Its array of air, road and rail options make it one of the easiest places to find transport links to from wherever you are in the rest of the UK or Ireland.

By train, you can get to London in 1hr 30mins from Birmingham, 5hrs 15mins from Glasgow, 2hrs 15mins from Manchester and 2hrs 20mins from Sheffield.
Take the A1/M1 route if you’re driving down the East side of England, the M6 to M1 if you’re coming from the West side, the Midlands or Glasgow, and the M4 if you’re travelling from South Wales, Bristol or Wiltshire.
London has no fewer than 3 major international airports – Heathrow (LHR), Gatwick (LGW) and Stansted (STN) – as well as having London City Airport (LCY) and nearby Luton Airport (LTN) to boot.
