By rail, it takes 2hrs 50mins from London to Newcastle, 3hrs 30mins from Birmingham and 2hrs 40mins from Manchester.
By road, it’s dead simple to get to Newcastle – take the M1/A1 from the South or Midlands if approaching from the East, and take the M6 then A69 if coming from the West or North-West.
