You never quite know what's going to happen at the Frog.
This intimate venue dedicated to all things comedy has been going on since 1994. It's set right at the end of Oldham Street, in the centre of everything happening in Manchester, in a reinforced building that was once a former bank. And, this place is a stalwart on the Manchester comedy scene for tourists, and locals, alike.
Since starting its life as a small city centre pub, Frog and Bucket has drawn in the biggest names in British comedy – Caroline Aherne used to cheer on the new talent, and Peter Kay and Johnny Vegas often compered the weekend shows. At one time or another, regular acts also included Lee Mack, Dave Gorman, Chris Addison, Ross Noble, Lucy Porter and Jason Manford. Steve Coogan even chose the club to rehearse material for BBC specials, and John Bishop's first ever gig was at the clubs amateur night. We don't mean to namedrop – but this place is a pretty big deal. Your socks will be well and truly laughed off.
