Get to grips with a huge part of Catalonian and Spanish culture on your Barcelona weekend. Cava, once regarded as Spain's champagne, is the most popular wine in the country, and almost all cava in the world (95% to be exact) is still produced in the Penedes area in Catalonia.
You and your group will get to taste three different types of Cava, in the very heart of the wine region. You'll explore the farmhouse and instillations to produce the liquid nectar, as well as take part in the actual bottling process – such as the likes of understanding the ancient art of 'disgorgement', the final step in the wine's production process - and create your own cava to take back home. This isn't just any boozy class and it will be the (alcoholic) cherry on the top of your Barcelona last night of freedom.
