Designed by Victorian inventor, James Starley, the Penny Farthing was a form of transport used by the wealthy aristocrats in the 1800s. Also known as the high-wheeler, this vintage vehicle has a large front wheel and much smaller rear wheel, and was the first machine to be called a ‘bicycle’. Although the Penny Farthing trend was short lived, it has become an iconic symbol of the late Victorian era.
So, why not take a blast into the past on your celebratory weekend in Krakow, and have an intro into the historical bike with a demonstration, as well as a chance to ride one of two bikes yourselves. You’ll have two instructors at your beck and call during the hour long class, leaving you to pedal like mad to stay upright.
