QHotels Aldwark Manor Golf & Spa Hotel is a tale of old and new (a bit like beautiful York). The hotel is steeped in history, set in a Victorian manor house, featuring a traditional-style interior in the main house, yet beautifully modern guest rooms. The hotel is in the middle of Harrogate and York, around a 30 minute drive from both, should you want to indulge in a spot of decadent retail therapy during the day.
Surrounded by 120 acres of stunning parkland, the hotel boasts a spa as relaxing and rejuvenating as the exterior. The leisure club is where you'll spend most of your hen weekend; you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool, unwind in the sauna, soothe all of your (hen do) aches in the Jacuzzi and enjoy a break in the steam room. Or, if you're feeling energetic – experience the fitness mecca in the high-tech gym. There are also seven treatment rooms (for when you over indulge on the cocktails), and you can get the likes of ESPA facials and body treatments, manicures and pedicures, as well as signature rituals – such as full body exfoliation.
After all of this luxury, it's time for some beauty sleep… The hotel rooms are cosy and completely chic, split between the main house and the contemporary wing. Each of them are individually designed and furnished, with comfy four poster beds and rich drapes – lending an air of sophistication to the sumptuous hen weekend celebrations. They also feature a room service menu, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary WiFi.
Of course, you need to break to eat – particularly at The Brasserie Restaurant. Awarded the AA Rosette, and home to an award-winning chef, the eatery has adapted and improved authentic British and French cuisine, using locally sourced ingredients from the Yorkshire Dales. The Terrace Bar, overlooking the first fairway of the 18-hole golf course, is perfect for whiling away time with a delicious drink, as is the Squadron Bar – a pre-dinner, or even after, haven.
