Reykjavik is known for its culture, which is why we’ve chosen some of the best apartments and our favourite classic hotel from across the city for you to pick from so you can have an authentic Icelandic experience
To stay in the very heart of the city, our apartment selections are your go to. With 3-star and 4-star digs to choose from, there’s guaranteed to be something to suit you and the lads, regardless of what style or budget you’re after. If you feel like stepping your suave levels up this weekend, the Room with a View Apartments are going to be your top choice. These 4-star apartments are light, airy and have – you guessed it – one of the best views in Reykjavik. You have your choice of rooms, the chance to upgrade to a suite with 2-4 bedrooms and whirlpool baths, and you’re less than 5-mintes’ walk from the stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The Boltholt Apartments are ideal if you’re looking for some urban edge in your weekend, with modern apartment suites and plenty of shops, bars and dining spots lining the street outside. If you’re looking to absorb all of this city’s incredible culture, the Einholt Apartments and Downtown Reykjavik Apartments are both in a prime location, surrounded by some of Reykjavik’s best museums and galleries. The Einholt Apartments give you a choice of 1,2 or 3 bedroom apartments, so depending on your group size (and how likely you are to get sick of their snoring) you can choose whether to share apartments or go it solo when it comes to sleeping off the hangover. The Downtown Reykjavik Apartments give you the offer of twin or double rooms, or 2-4 bedroom apartments, some with the option of a terrace where you can enjoy a cold beer while you admire the view before you head out for the evening.
If you’re more interested in all those tours and excursions outside of the city, or maybe you just love a good theme, then the Hotel Viking is the perfect spot for you and the lads. Set out in a more rural area, you get the choice of rustic rooms or cottages each with a Viking theme, or an ocean-side apartment with a fishing village vibe. This is a truly unique stay, and despite not being in the heart of Reykjavik, you’re still surrounded by plenty of bars and restaurants, not to mention the hotels on-site live-entertainment, restaurants and even a geothermic hot tub. All of our apartments are in the centre of Reykjavik and don’t require a taxi to get around, however if you opt for the Viking Hotel you would need to hop in a cab to get you into Reykjavik city centre. Taxi’s should only take around 20 minutes, though, so you don’t need to worry about missing out on valuable drinking time.
