Berlin is full to the brim of incredible places to stay, which makes it so much harder to choose where you’re going to spend your weekend. That’s why we’ve been good enough to narrow it down for you to some of our all-time favourite accommodation around the city. With everything from 4-star hotels to cheap and chic hostels spread across the city in every district, wherever you want to spend most of your time there’s going to be something perfect for you.
For a little bit of glam to keep your weekend next level sophisticated, Hotel Melia is the ultimate 4-star hotel. Right in the heart of the city, the hotel has its very own high end restaurant, glamorous lounge and bar and even a gym and sauna in case you feel like squeezing in a quick workout (we admire your commitment) or just want to sweat out a cocktail or two before you hit the streets. Just across the river is the stunning Leonardo Hotel Berlin Mitte with its sleek modern rooms and plenty of amenities, not to mention they’re surrounded by some incredible places to eat and drink so you can start and end your day in style. Hotel Albrechtshof is a 3-star hotel that keeps up effortlessly with its 4-star competitors, with a prime river location near the city centre and plenty of nightlife surrounding you.
Hotel MeliaFor a hotel that’s surrounded by culture, the Alper Hotel is the ideal choice. Right by the Tiergarten, Berlin’s biggest and most beautiful park, you’re surrounded by historical monuments, cosy pubs and bars and some of the city’s most popular galleries and museums. Berlin also does hostels better than any European city, and each one is modern, cool and perfectly located to give you the chicest stay without breaking the bank. A&O Berlin Mitte is on the East Side of Berlin, notorious for its cool, hipster vibes and amazing nightlife. You’re just a 30-minute walk from Martix, one of Berlin’s hottest clubs and are surrounded by plenty of urban and unique bars, clubs and restaurants. For a hostel that’s a little more relaxed, Meininger Central Station ticks all the boxes. Surrounded by beautiful parks and culture hot spots, you’re also right next to the Einkaufsbahnhof Berlin Hbf where there are some amazing shops and dining spots. Generator Hostel Berlin Mitte is the hostel to pick if you’re looking for a central location – just outside the city centre, with some of the best bars and nightlife in the city on your doorstep. There’s also hundreds of niche boutique shops around you so you can indulge in a little retail therapy before you get stuck into your other activities. With so many different areas and things to see around the city, wherever you stay you’re going to get a once in a lifetime experience in this über cool German city.
As there are so many different districts, depending on where you stay you may need a taxi into the city centre. Taxis should usually take no more than 20-minutes, however if you want to experience the true Berlin way of life, the underground and tram systems run right across the city every few minutes and are super easy to navigate. With a stop on every corner you can get anywhere in the city with minimal fuss.
