The Welsh capital is an insane hen do destination. It’s got everything a good hen party destination should have – a huge range of activities, a wild nightlife scene and some of the best looking blokes on the planet if Gethin Jones is anything to go by. Cardiff is also a universal pleaser, with the activities available pleasing all budgets, tastes and ages – basically, you won’t go wrong in the Welsh city. If you and your mates are up for a full on 48-hour party weekend of fast-paced daytime activities and drinking until the wee hours, that can certainly be arranged. Having said this, if you’ve got some older ladies in your group (sorry, Mum-in-laws out there), you may have to tailor your activities to make sure they have a great time as well – and with the likes of Champagne afternoon teas, butlers in the buff, a wealth of glamorous cocktail classes in different popular bars, gin tasting and flapper headband workshops, we’re sure that won’t be too difficult.
The Welsh Games are a great way to break the ice with your groupWith over 150 day and night time activities to choose from in Cardiff, you and the girls will be spoilt for choice with ideas for your Welsh weekend. The nightlife in Cardiff is just as bold and brash as the reputation which precedes it, and it’s your hen party duty to join the party animals in going hard or going home. It’s extremely popular for hens to start their night in true hen do style, with a couple of hours in the company of the Dreamboys. The gorgeous Dreamboys have been pleasing crowds since their launch in 1999, and show no signs of slowing down any time soon – with their impressive muscles, dance moves and entertaining acts sending crowds into a spin during every show.
After you’ve got your breath back from their impressive abs, er, we mean impressive choreography, it’s time to hit Cardiff’s bars. Whether it’s Pryzm, Pop World, Walkabout or Revolution, we’ll get you on the guestlist of some of the city’s most talked about nightclubs. Of course, what’s better the morning after than a spa day to soothe away those sore heads? With mobile spa treatments available, as well as many hotels having in house saunas, spas and gyms, we recommend a Full English, a couple of paracetamols and a detox session to rival any you’ve had before.
A bit of healthy competition never harmed anybodyIf you’re more of a calm, cool and collected hen party, the nude life drawing is a great way to unite all age ranges, impress everyone with your artistic skills, and *ahem* appreciate the male form whilst you’re at it… just try not to giggle when he slips his robe off to bare all. If you’re a logical person who loves a physical and mental challenge, escape room is a great way to put you through your paces. Proving more and more popular, the escape room sees groups races against the clock to crack codes, solve puzzles and escape before the time runs out.
For more of a physically challenging hen do, It’s a Knockout is a wonderful way to make sure all the girls have a laugh, are able to chat to each other and have some stories to tell when the evening do comes. This hilarious activity will see hens splitting into teams and taking part in various games involving inflatable obstacles and challenge. The Welsh Games are similar, but ideal if you’re wanting to embrace your host city’s culture – with various Welsh-themed games like Sheep Shenanigans, Drunk Dragons and Leek Duels. Not advised on a hangover…
