Would it really be a Last Night of Freedom guide without us trying to pass off a bar as culture? To be fair, it is featured on the National Trust website (which is well cultural innit). Dating back to 1826, what was once a Victorian gin palace, is now a classy establishment with carved-mahogany booths and period gas lighting. You can even order your drinks by ringing a bell.
Giant’s Causeway
We’re not going to lie, this is a trek to get to, taking about two hours and a half by public transport or just over an hour’s drive, but it’s iconic, so it’s going on the list. This natural wonder is made up of 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, which was the result of a volcanic eruption, making it super unique looking. It has provided inspiration for much of Ireland’s folklore.

This is one city that we can say with absolute certainty is very walkable, but there are plenty of taxis around if you are a little too drunk to put one foot in front of the other, plus busses if you fancy exploring further afield.
We’ll be honest, Belfast isn’t the cheapest city in the UK, but hey, at least it’s cheap to get to. It’s totally worth the money, we can vouch for this personally. Here are some of the average prices you can expect to pay.
You’ve probably flown overseas to get here, but Spain weather this ain’t, still you definitely do get lush sunny days, perfect for lazing around in beer gardens and enjoying a cool Guinness (or seven).
