Staying Safe in Manchester

Northerners are known for being friendly, but on any night out in any location, you want to practice some simple safety tips. Here are out top six tips for staying safe in Manchester:

1

Make a WhatsApp chat, so you have easy contact with each other. We’d also recommend putting the address of where you’re staying (plus any passcodes), so you all have it

2

Don’t let anyone go off on their own. If someone wants to go back to the accommodation, have two of your group escort them, so there’s not one person walking about on their own

3

Manchester has a lot of canals, so make sure to be extra mindful around water, keeping an eye on your pals too

4

Keep an eye on your drink and don’t put it down unattended to reduce the risk of spiking

5

Be aware of pickpockets and take care not to put your valuables anywhere where they can be accessed easily, back pockets etc.

6

Stick to well-known neighbourhoods and don't go anywhere that's not well lit

By keeping these simple safety tips in mind, we’re sure you’ll have a fabulous time!
