LNOF in

October 2025

Boasting approximately 700 pubs, Irish charm and a buzzing atmosphere like no other, Dublin has consistently been one of our best-selling stag and hen destinations. So, it’s only right that we go out there to party/activity test (you know, for research purposes).

Take a look at what we got up to over an action-packed weekend in Dublin!

FRIDAY 7PM -
Flight

We started our trip with a good stint of drinking in the office, where some members of the team were given some forfeits to do over the weekend, like asking a bartender if they sell Guinness. Then we headed to catch our flight from Newcastle Airport. After one of our staff members had some handcuffs confiscated off them (don’t ask!), we headed onboard our chariot (Ryanair flight). There’s not much else to tell here, just that the flight is over so quickly, you’ll be landing before you know it and going “was that it?”.

FRIDAY 9PM -
Checking in at The Harcourt Hotel

After our airport transfer where we got to see the dazzling lights of Dublin for the first time, including flashy lights telling us it was fire safety week (the more you know), we headed to the iconic Harcourt Hotel. The Harcourt is a lovely traditional hotel that places you right in the heart of the party with its attached nightclub D Two and several nightlife institutions in the surrounding area including Copper Face Jacks. We got changed quickly in our rooms ready to hit the tiles.

FRIDAY 10PM -
Porter’s Bar & Harcourt Hotel Bar

Our first proper drink of the night was in the quaint and traditional Porter’s Bar. This is where some of us had our first Guinness and learnt that you’re not supposed to grab it off the bar when it’s only three quarters full (oops). After this, we went to our hotel’s bar. Cast any images of dull lobby bars from your mind because the Harcourt Bar is an epic bar in its own right. It’s spacious and ornate with plush booth seating. It has even got a fountain out the back! It’s here where some of us (me) made some terrible life decisions (getting a double gin/lemonade AND a prosecco… and drinking them at the same time with two straws).

FRIDAY 1AM/3AM -
Flannery’s

Full of Guinness and other such spirits, we hit up Flannery’s, which is a late-night bar found on Camden Street. Some of us spent quite a bit of time punching the punch bag arcade machine, you could say it was a ‘hit’ with our group. All punched out, we went to the dance floor to dance to the likes of Oasis and other such hits. The night ended with us heading to the chip shop (obvs), where we discovered the delight that is the spice bag: spicy chicken, spicy chips and curry sauce – lush!

SATURDAY 12PM -
Scavenger Hunt

We started the day with a hearty Harcourt breakfast and a much-needed lie in. The first thing on the itinerary was the scavenger hunt which was where we set off around Dublin to find various things including a picture with a stag/hen, a picture with an Irish celeb/historical figure, a picture outside somewhere that sells colcannon (or menu that has it on) and the best postcard or keyring we could find. Some of us thought outside of the box and arranged some letter keyrings to say LNOF and wrote colcannon on the front of a menu. Taskmaster producers if you’re reading… get us on.

SATURDAY 2pm -
Guinness Factory Tour

If you don’t know much about Ireland, you probably know that Guinness is a big thing here. As someone who isn’t particularly fussed on Guinness, let me tell you that the Guinness Factory Tour is actually really great, even if you’re not a Guinness drinker. You’re plunged into the world of Guinness with super cool and immersive sets including a field of wheat (that Theresa May would probs love to run though) and fountains that make the shape of Guinness bottles, harps and more!

The advertising room was awesome too with all the iconic Guinness ads from through the years, including a moving statue of a fish on a bicycle. This isn’t even to mention the tasting room where you got to smell all the distinct smells of Guinness and have a taste yourself.

SATURDAY 4PM -
Gravity Bar

Technically still part of the Guinness Factory Tour, the Gravity Bar is found on the top floor of the attraction. It’s worth doing it for just this. The Gravity Bar offers gorgeous 360 views over Dublin and is an ace spot for pictures. We had a relaxed drink at the top, enjoying our Guinness that was included in the experience.

SATURDAY 6PM -
Traditional Irish Meal

We went back to our hotel for a bit of downtime where some of us kept drinking and some of us watched a few episodes of The Chase (good times) … Then it was time for some scran. We settled down to a tasty meal at O'Sheas Restaurant, where meal options included whiskey sausages, Guinness stew and Irish Stew. It was a great way of lining our stomachs for the night ahead.

SATURDAY 8PM
Dublin Bar Crawl

At 8pm we met our Bar Crawl guide for the night who gave us wristbands that would entitle us to free shots and drinks offers throughout the night (read more: LNOF Try the Dublin Guided Bar Crawl). We started the night at 4 Dam Lane, which was a party bar with quirky décor including trumpets and an enormous disco ball. Here we enjoyed an included drink before moving onto Storehouse, which had live musicians and a proper Irish feel to it. We also went to Bad Bobs, where a highlight included a saxophone player walking around and playing along with the music. Next, we went to Whelan’s, which is part quaint Irish bar, part music venue.

SATURDAY 1am till ??? (who knows?) -
Copper Face Jacks

We ended up at Copper Face Jacks, which is one of Dublin’s go to nightlife hotspots. Plenty of Guinness means that we were all in the party mood. Also, they were playing some absolute bangers including Bonkers by Dizzee Rascal and various Taylor Swift songs. All of us were up and dancing at this point. Some of us dance with flair (everyone except me) and some of us dance like a drunk Dad at a wedding (me). After a night of throwing shapes, we stumbled across the road and fell into our beds.

SUNDAY 2PM -
Buskers on the Ball

As you can imagine, we were knackered on Sunday after basically one continuous night out over two days. The only booked activity for the day was Buskers on the Ball. Buskers on the Ball is a sports bar found in the heart of Temple Bar. Here we enjoyed some platters full of comfort food including chicken wings, chips, spring rolls, sausages and more. We also shot a couple of games of pool. Some of us stayed here for most of the day watching football and some of us headed out to explore Dublin, by doing some shopping and taking some obligatory, touristy pics in front of Temple Bar.

SUNDAY 11PM -
Flying Home

At 11pm it was time to get our flight home. It was mad to think that we had done all of this in the same weekend. For a few of us, this was our first time in Ireland, and we were already planning return trips. We can see why this is an incredible choice for stags and hens because the buzz of Temple Bar is like nothing else. Basically, it ‘sham-rocked’ (sorry). See you next time, Dublin!
