LNOF Try Boom Battle Bar

We had a ‘booming’ marvellous time trying out axe throwing, electronic darts and mini golf at the fantastic Boom Battle Bar!

Sept 2024

is a big entertainment complex, found in St John’s shopping centre, full lots of different games such as mini golf, darts, American pool, axe throwing, shuffleboard and ping pong. We were a little hungover from a mega Liverpool night out, when we arrived but that didn’t stop us from having a smashing time.

First up we tried . Our instructor, or should we say ‘axe-pert’, taught us all the tips and tricks we needed to hit the target. There were several different axes that you could use, and you could choose whether to do a one handed or a two-handed throw. Despite feeling a little worse for wear, most of us managed to make at least one axe stick! Akash even managed to get a bullseye, it’s fair to say he ‘came out on chop’.

Next up was . This was a cool mix of darts and technology. There were lots of different games you could pick. Our group especially loved Killer, which was a savage game where you had to try and eliminate the rest of your group off the board. There were other games too such as Bullseye, that was based on the TV show of the same name, where you had to throw darts and answer quiz questions. There was even a farming one where you had to expand your farm and take out everyone else’s! It doesn’t matter whether you are as good as Eric Bristow or struggle to hit the board, the aim of the game is just having fun.

Having this much fun really takes it out of you so we decided to stop for a spot of lunch. This consistent of tasty street food such as chicken wings, sweet potato fries, tater tots and even cauliflower wings. We were also offered some prosecco which we had to except…. I mean, it would be rude not to, right?!

Our final activity of the day was . Now you might have heard of crazy golf, but this is REALLY crazy golf with catapults, conveyor belts and loops. There were nine holes in total and it was just a bit different from your average crazy golf session. There was even a hole where you had to race your friends to get the ball in the hole first in the style of a labyrinth maze. Hannah S (me) managed to win somehow.... despite somehow losing not one, but two balls along the way. It was a quali-tee way to end our day.

Go on Emma, you can do it!

It was a cool venue in general with lots to do. There was a bar with a fab cocktail menu with all your faves plus shots and sharers. Also, there were arcade games dotted about too such as basketball hoops and a punching bag.

If you fancy trying out several of the games then we would recommend you get the , which will see you choosing 3 games, and you’ll get a drink and a shot thrown in too.
