As part of our ‘job’, we trawled the bars and exciting venues in the Irish capital, for two (hard-working) days – with the occasional pint of Guinness thrown in. However, we’ve got to eat, and there could only be one pit-stop for us on our first night… Milano.
Set in the heart of the Temple Bar, slap-bang on Essex Street, Milano boasts an unrivalled location. Down the road, you’ve got the main ‘strip’ of bars (to enjoy after your pizza) – packed full of tourists, locals and buskers alike. And, this Italian beast has enough room to occupy the largest of stag and hen groups, with extra seating downstairs.
Our much needed sit down, and meal, couldn’t have come at a better time (all that graft and all…), and we got in just before the mad rush for food. The restaurant features floor to ceiling windows, and a sleek, modern interior – at odds with the old-school pubs surrounding the venue. However, we couldn’t have been more welcome, and got straight onto ordering the tasty meal, in an attempt to line our stomachs for testing even more bars. We do take care of you lot.
It comes as no surprise that pizza was the most popular choice, along with the requisite calzone and vegetarian option (can’t take the staff anywhere…). We also tucked into calamari and dough ball starters – just to check, of course. But, before all of that was demolished (literally), we were invited into the kitchen to see what really goes on behind the scenes. All we can say is that we’re not made to be chefs… We’ll leave it to the experts. And, experts they were as, in a record of 10 minutes, all food was gone… and we left feeling super satisfied (ready for a Guinness).
You can sample the tasty Italian delights of Milano on your Dublin stag or hen weekend, with a delicious three course meal and drink. If we’ve already sold you on the food (and the city) – you can even go straight on ahead and book your Dublin stag or hen weekend.
