Top 15 Things to Do on a

If Dublin isn’t Disneyland for stags, we don’t know where is! From the dazzling Temple Bar to having a go at Gaelic Games, have a look at our top 15 things for stags to do in Dublin.

1

Temple Bar

Starting with the obvious, you simply must hit up Temple Bar. This place is packed with more bars than a fully charged mobile phone. You’ve got the famous Temple Bar, an imposing red pub that’s often strewn with fairy lights, making for a perfect picture opportunity. This is the most famous boozer in the area, but you’ve also got loads of different nightlife hotspots, from quaint traditional pubs with live musicians such as The Old Storehouse to nightclubs such as Bad Bobs, which is spread over five floors.

Guinness Factory Tour

We would highly recommend checking out the Guinness Factory Tour. Honestly, even if you’re not Guinness fanatics the tour is really fun and impressive. There are a whopping seven floors to explore with highlights being the tasting room (obvs), the advertising room (which is full of all kinds of weird and wacky things such as a fish on a bicycle) and fountains that make shapes such as a pint of Guinness and the name of the ingredients in Guinness. Right at the top is the Gravity Bar, where you can sip on a Guinness (or other beverage) whilst enjoying 360° views of Dublin.

Go Karting

Indoor Karting is a staple stag do activity and Dublin offers a corker. We would recommend Kylemore Karting because it boasts three different karting tracks. Track one is the main karting track which includes a 70m back straight and challenging corners. Track two is likened to the famous Monte Carlo Formula 1 circuit. Track three is a multi-level figure of eight is similar to the F1 Circuit de Suzuka in Japan. Here you can reach speeds of up to 65mph. You ‘kart’ top that!

Do a Guided Bar Crawl

Dublin has a huge number of bars and pubs, around 700! This means it can be tricky to know which ones are worth your time. To get the most out of your night we would recommend doing a Guided Dublin Bar Crawl. This way you have got a local showing you all the hotspots, often bar crawls come with things like drinks offers and free shots. We certainly enjoyed it when we tried the Dublin guided bar crawl.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Get your stag do off to a bang (literally) with a spot of Clay Pigeon Shooting. Courtlough Shooting Grounds is Ireland’s Premier Shooting Grounds. Here you can enjoy world-class clay shooting. You will use a 12-gauge shotgun to break flying clay "pigeons" (no birds were harmed in the making of this article). This would be a great choice for your stag do if you fancy getting out into the fresh air and getting competitive with each other.

Pedi Bus Tour

Yeah, you could walk from bar to bar, but where’s the fun in that? A Pedi Bus Tour is pretty much a beer garden that moves. Up to 16 people will board the bike and pedal their way to four different Dublin pubs and bars. There’s an audio system onboard, so you can be the DJ by plugging in your own music. This isn’t a beer bike, so you can’t drink onboard, but it’s still a fun way to get from bar to bar. It puts the spotlight on your group so don’t be surprised if you get people waving at you (or cars beeping at you!).

This will see you and the lads having a go at traditional Irish sports including Gaelic Football, Gaelic Handball and Hurling. You definitely don’t have to be an athlete to join in, just willing to turn up and have a go.

Flight Club Dublin

The first rule of Flight Club… is that everyone talks about how great it is. Flight Club is known for ‘social darts’, which is where technology meets darts. There are various different games, including a savage one call Killer (where you must wipe your pals out in order to win) and a snakes and ladders themed one. Oh, and they also do seriously impressive cocktails. You can just walk in and chance it, but we would suggest making reservations to make sure you’re not disappointed.

The Brazen Head

The Brazen Head is Ireland’s oldest pub, having been established in 1198. Although it has been refurbished, it retains some of the original features. As well as being cultural, it’s also just a cracking pub. This is a great place to head to if you want to enjoy some traditional Irish music, yes we are talking flutes and violins. Oh, and you’re gonna wanna check out their ever-popular fish and chips.

The Odeon

No, we’re not talking about the cinema, but rather an incredible nightlife hangout comprised of the main bar, the cocktail bar, the library bar, the terrace bar and the bourbon suite. The main bar has a New York bar vibe, so if you’re looking for somewhere suave, head here. If you’re into live sports, The Terrace Bar has three 65-inch LED TVs and a laser projector and a 3m-by-3m giant screen that shows all the major sporting events. With so much to explore, you could spend all night at The Odeon.

Copper Face Jacks

Copper Face Jacks isn’t just a club; it’s a Dublin institution! Found on Harcourt Street, this iconic club boasts state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems and is almost always packed with party goers. The kind of music played here is often throwback, think along the lines of Dizzee Rascal.
