Finding somewhere to stay can be the hardest part of booking any weekend away, so we’ve taken all the work out of it for you by coming up with nine of Galway’s top hotels and hostels for you and the lads. With everything from 5-star to 2-star hotels and hostels, there’s plenty of choice to suit every budget, regardless of whether you’re looking for a boujee apartment to really give your weekend some luxury, or you and the lads are more bothered about having some extra cash for the next round of Guinnesses.
Barnacles Hostel Galway is no ordinary hostel – this 5-star accommodation is perfect for large groups, with a choice or private rooms or shared dorms, breakfast included, and best of all you’re just minutes’ away from all the best bars and restaurants that Galway has to offer. Another perfectly located hotel is the Leonardo Hotel Galway, with a bar and restaurant on-site ready to get your night started, and hundreds of bars and restaurants right on your doorstep, there’s no excuse for anyone to be heading home early. You can even get room service delivered to you if the thought of getting out of bed is just too much to handle.
The Clayton HotelGalway’s Eyre Square is where everyone wants to spend the majority of their stag do here, with its amazing range of cosy pubs and swanky wine bars, delicious restaurant and some incredible historical sites such as the Quincentennial Fountain. Therefore, it stands to reason that you’re probably going to want to stay as close to here as possible – what could be better than stepping out of your hotel and into the very centre of town? Imperial Hotel Galway has some of the best settings in the city, right on the corner of the square and less than a five minute walk to the other top bars and clubs that Galway has to offer. They even have their very own bar and restaurant to throw into the mix, so you’ll be spoilt with choice where to head for your big night out. The Kinlay Hostel is on the opposite side of Eyre Square from the Imperial Hotel Galway, and offers a more budget friendly option if you’re wanting to stay right by the square.
This super modern and trendy hostel has everything you need to make your stay as smooth as possible, not to mention you’ve got the whole of Galway city right outside the front door.
Jameson Court Apartments in GalwayNothing kills a night out more than having to wait around for taxis, which is why we’ve made sure that all of our Galway accommodation is as centrally located as possible. Some hotels are a little further afield, and if you choose to stay in The Connacht Hotel or the Maldron Hotel Sandy Road you will need a taxi to get into town, unless you feel like braving the 30 minute walk. Taxis can have you into the centre in less than 10 minutes, so you don’t need to worry that your whole night is going to be spent in a taxi.
Absolutely, each one of our hotels, hostels and apartments have room allocation reserved on them to ensure that you aren’t left disappointed when you’ve finally chosen your hotel. Some weekends can fill up quicker than others, particularly during Galway International Arts Festival which happens every year in July. As long as you book far enough in advance, however, you don’t need to worry about being disappointed or finding your weekend of choice fully booked. One of our sales staff is always more than happy to double check for you to avoid any overlap so you can get on with planning your Galway weekend with confidence.
