We know there’s nothing worse than trying to figure out where to stay when booking your weekend, so luckily for you we’ve made it easier by narrowing our accommodation choices down to our top three favourites in Torquay. Spread across the city centre, there’s guaranteed to be one that is in the perfect location for what you and the boys have planned the weekend. With the best mix of 2-star and 3-star hotels, everything we offer is easy on the budget without compromising on location or style, so no matter who you’ve got coming with you or what you have planned, there should be no problem finding something perfect for you.
We know there’s nothing worse than having to drag your bags halfway across the city when you arrive, so the Travelodge Torquay is perfectly located right next to Torre train station, so you and the boys can hop off the train, straight into your room to drop off your bags and waste no time getting out into the city. With just a 15 minute walk to the Union Square Shopping Centre, and plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants on the way, you’re surrounded by more than enough to keep everyone happy all weekend long. For an even more central location, look no further than the Riviera Hotel. Found just a 12 minute walk from the city centre shops, and only 22 minutes’ walk from the iconic Park Lane nightclub, this 3-star location really is the perfect balance of affordability and luxury, with an on-site bar, restaurant and swimming pool, you can relax and get ready for your night out in style. You’re also just a few minutes’ walk from the marina, and some of Torquay’s best tourist attractions such as the Torre Abbey Museum and the iconic English Riviera Wheel, a 60ft Ferris Wheel that will give you some of the best views in the city. This is definitely the perfect hotel for any stag weekend that wants a little bit of culture and plenty of drinking.
One of the best located hotels in all of Torquay is The Heritage Hotel, found right on the edge of the marina. Whilst light on the budget, this hotel exudes some classic seaside charm. A 15 minute walk gets you to Yates, one of Torquay’s favourite drinking spots, whilst a six minute walk has you right on the seafront enjoying one of the city’s best beaches. There’s also a sports bar on-site so you and the lads can sit out on the heated terrace and enjoy the match on their big screen TV with some drink before you head into town. There’s even access to a sauna and swimming pool, so you can enjoy all the luxuries of a swanky hotel without the hefty price tag.
All of our accommodation is perfectly located to make sure you can get into the city centre in 15 minutes or less to make the most of all the shops, restaurants and bars that Torquay has to offer. If you’re staying at Travelodge Torquay, it’s around a 25 minute walk to Park Lane nightclub, however with more than enough bars to stop by on your way you won’t even notice the time. If you do want to hop in a taxi there or back, it should take less than 10 minutes to get your back to your front door from the club.
Nothing ruins a weekend more than missing out on your hotel, so we’ve made sure we reserved room allocation in all of the hotels we have to offer. Some weekend may fill up quicker than others, particularly during the Grinagog Festival, an outdoor arts and music festival which is held every April. Hotels can be booked up pretty quickly during this weekend, so we recommend booking in advance if you’re planning on coinciding your weekend with the festival. One of our LNOF sales staff will always double check your weekend for you, however, so your weekend can run smoothly.
