In the heart of Market Square, popular with tourists and drinkers alike, you’ll find the Sukiennice building which is home to some of Poland’s most famed 19th century artwork. Underground however, you’ll find exhibitions dedicated to the medieval ways of life in Krakow including ancient merchant stalls that were excavated in 2010.

This medieval fortress was once a small fort tasked with protecting the city from the outside world as part of St Florian’s gate. It is told that a Polish soldier was once able to fight off an attack from Russian soldiers using nothing but a shirt button to snipe the enemy general.

These medieval exhibitions are one of the most immersive experiences of their kind and provide a glimpse into the life of medieval Krakow. Dating back to the 12th and 14th centuries, the exhibit physically walks you through time, showing how generation after generation have built on top of one another. There are even ancient weapons that have been recovered from the ground.

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is a monument of marvel and features on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The “Wieliczka” Salt Mine is an extraordinary place – hidden from the world, full of secrets and legends, it offers several tourist routes for visitors and it is open all year round. If you go there you'll find out why the Polish say it is the white gold treasure of Poland.
Kosciuszko Mound

Enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the city from the top of this man-made mound, raised to honour its namesake Tadeusz Kosciuszko, a Polish American war hero who is something of a national hero in Poland. This huge hill is built in the image of primeval Pagan mounds which also surround the city. Spooky stuff.

Widely described as the world’s oldest shopping centre, the beautiful Sukiennice building stands proudly in the middle of Krakow’s Market Square. The building itself is a sight to behold with its renaissance period architecture adding drama to this attraction. You can pick up a souvenir while you take in the sights and a nice cold beer.
The Dragon’s Den

Head to the base of Wawel Hill where you will find the home of a mythical dragon (we’re being serious). The deep limestone cave was once said to be protected by a formidable dragon named Smok Wawelski, which is immortalised in statue form at the opening of the cave.

Travelling to Poland couldn’t be easier, with regular routes from most major cities in the UK including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol. It’s cheap too, with costs averaging around £90. Getting to the city centre from the airport is a doddle and only 20mins to reach the city centre by car.

Krakow Airport, also known as John Paul II International Airport, is located approximately seven and a half miles west of the city centre and is the second busiest airport in the country. This means that travelling to and from the airport is a breeze and doesn’t need to cause you and the lads any extra stress on your stag do in Krakow.

Taxi/Transfers | Taxis take around 20 minutes from the airport to the city centre, perfect for lads looking to crack on in Krakow! Taxis are relatively cheap too with an average fare setting you back 50 to 75 zloty, so about £10-15. We also offer a here at Last Night of Freedom which is a little pricier and takes a little longer, but we can guarantee this scenic route into town is something you don’t want to miss. |
Bus/Train | The bus and train service from the airport is a cheap and a relatively quick way of transporting you and the lads to the city’s centre. Nights out in Krakow are easy to navigate with the two main party areas right next to each other in Market Square and the Jewish Quarter. The city has Uber to ensure you can safely travel back after a boozy night out, especially handy when you’ve lost the use of your legs, as well as an intricate bus and tram system that has recently won awards for its innovation.
Let’s face it, Poland is in the Eastern Bloc, so isn’t known for its balmy weather. The best time to visit Krakow on your stag do is definitely in the summertime if you like to be outside, their summers are similar to ours with highs of around 24 degrees. However, this party-loving city will still give you a warm welcome, despite the snow in chillier months.
