Surprisingly, it’s also relatively old – dating all the way back to 1348. This district is the loudest, busiest and liveliest for your stag do and is home to the idiocentric hub of Prague’s nightlife, Wenceslas Square.

Wenceslas Square is why this city is iconic; a tight-knit square of bars, pubs and clubs with surrounding streets strewn with stag do venues. Speaking of stag weekend pit-stops, the New Town proudly lays claim to the largest number of strip clubs in the capital. They are sleek, sophisticated, and luxurious, packed full of leggy Czech beauties. The bars (and strip clubs) are typically open until the next morning and welcome the likes of Mick Jagger for his 60th birthday… We imagine you’ll spend most of your stag weekend hours in the New Town…

01. Duplex

Václavské nám. 831/21, 110 00 Nové Mesto

A man DJing in Duplex

Duplex is an understatement… Duplex is massive; a glass cube bar/restaurant/club and host of Mick Jagger’s 60th birthday, sitting pretty over Prague’s New Town. The state-of-the-art is sleek and sophisticated, all the way to its pristine menu of premium spirits and magnums of champagne (save that koruna). This club is so exclusive; it has been awarded membership to the World’s Finest Bars website and boasts the likes of Tiesto selling out sets on a weekday. School nights mean nothing in Prague… The multi-level venue starts its day as a trendy restaurant, attracting the wealthy and beautiful of Prague, before transforming into one of the busiest clubs in the city. You can even experience the finest views of Prague on the terrace, overlooking the impressive city skyline.

02. Nebe Wenceslas Square

Václavské nám. 802/56, 110 00 Nové Mesto

Nebe bar with angels around the bar

Nebe is a club you could only dream of for your stag do… but it’s reality. Set over two chaotic floors, Nebe sees hundreds of likeminded stags (and hen groups) flock to the stage each weekend. It plays the best of 80s/90s and 00s and has huge screens displaying epic videos around the room. Prague’s world-famous and stag weekend best friend, Staropramen, is served on tap and the club is open until 5am – plenty of time to sample the local pilsner. Beer is relatively cheap in Prague, but if you’ve sunk enough hops for one weekend, Nebe’s signature (and lethal) cocktails start at 59Kc (£1.80 to us).

A man playing the guitar on stage

Lucerna is one of Prague’s biggest clubs dedicated to music. Tucked underneath the busy streets of the city – it’s a stag do mecca. Two floors of locals, tourists and stag and hen groups take up the cool, industrial and warehouse-style space to catch the live bands and stellar, international gigs during the week. The dance floor stretches around the stage to get an impressive view of the performers, morphing into an 80s and 90s haven on the weekend. What’s a stag do without plenty of cheese…? If that’s all in the past (get it), you can head up to the VIP viewing area and watch the crowd from high above.

A stripper dressed as a showgirl, lying down

You’re the man, the man with the Midas touch… Not a film set from James Bond (but it may as well be), Goldfingers is one of the most extravagant and luxurious strip clubs in the city. Prague’s legendary cabaret strip club has been welcoming our stag groups for years, enticing them with the likes of body painting and even eating, jelly wrestling and the classic cabaret and strip teases. If that’s not enough, they also stitch up the stag good and proper; we’re talking whipping and riding him around the stage… The stage is huge, with plenty of emphasis on the view and there are enough VIP loungers for the larger groups and additional privacy…

05. Hooters

Vodickova 12/5, 128 00 Nové Mesto

The Hooters girls

We’ve got a lot to thank Hooters for… Bringing the best tastes and biggest portions of ‘Murica to Prague, along with tight tops and even smaller shorts, Hooters is a restaurant built to serve stag groups. Buckets of wings, giant burgers and steaks bigger than your head are popular choices on the extensive menu; big enough to prepare you for the ultimate stag weekend in Prague. The bar/restaurant is famed for its beach-style atmosphere, filled with gorgeous girls (providing the best service in Wenceslas Square) and massive TVs showing live sport at all times.

Some strippers drinking and lounging on sofas

We don’t do things by halves in Prague, and why visit one strip club and not the other…? Hot Peppers is one of the biggest lap dancing clubs in the city, set in the heart of the buzzing Wenceslas Square. Renowned for its portfolio of European talent, the girls are experts in entertaining stag groups, performing strip teases, themed cabaret acts and classic lesbian shows. This is the luxurious side of your stag do and Prague’s infamous vibe, with VIP champagne lounges offering Grande Marques, Cristal, Veuve Clicquot, Moët & Chandon, Dom Pérignon and Krug.

Some people clubbing under a chandelier

KU Bar and Lounge is part of the new wave of cool and quirky bars sweeping across Europe. To order drinks, the tables have tablets built into them to order pilsner and you can even chat to other tables on the tablets, for when that pilsner kicks in and you start to feel social… The venue is styled as one of the trendiest spots for pilsner and cocktails and, as such, attracts a diverse crowd. Weekdays are reserved for the locals and after work drinkers, promotions such as Mad Mondays draw big crowds, whereas the weekends are all yours.

No matter where you go abroad, you always seem to find a cracking British bar that’s somehow more British than the pubs in Britain. Londoners Sports Bar is Prague’s biggest British Pub AND curry house (wow it does it all!). You can expect live sport, live music, karaoke two nights a week, a games room with pool and darts and a bar stocked so full that it would impress any cockney landlord. Get yourself down to Londoners for a right old ‘Gay and hearty’ (party!).

09. Rocky O’Reilly’s Irish Pub & Restaurant

www.rockyoreillys.cz

Štepánská 620/32, 110 00 Praha 1-Nové Mesto

Some people dressed in Irish clothing

We all love the Irish. In fact, we love them so much we have a few working at LNOF HQ. Prague is of a similar mindset to us, with numerous Irish bars lining the busy squares. None such are as popular as Rocky O’Reilly’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, established as the city’s finest Irish bar, inspired by The Emerald Isle. Rocky is one of the boys; filled with beer and lover of GAA, live sports and craic. He’s split into two bars and both are reminiscent of a cosy, Dublin pub with dark wood interior and stout. In true Irish fashion, the TVs are on the sports channels every weekend and you’re guaranteed locals, tourists and a few ex-pats in the crowds. That and traditional Irish food for the morning after.

10. Groove Bar

Voršilská 6, 110 00, Praha 1

The exterior of Groove Bar

Groove is more at home in London’s edgy north than it is Prague. It’s one of those cool and edgy bars that you’d wear a checked shirt too, but it’s worth it. Groove is a world of pretty people and leggy Czech beauties, as well as international DJs. The venue is dark and industrial, with those aforementioned DJs in the downstairs bar. However, the Main Bar is a lot quieter, yet still packed to the rafters each weekend. It serves expertly crafted drinks, their famous Bernard Beer on tap and shooters that will keep you going throughout the long weekend.
