LNOF Guide to Benidorm
Chill out with sunshine, beaches and boozy Brits living the life.
Benidorm has always attracted young British holidaymakers, but the 80s image of bucket and spade bedlam has been booted into touch of late. This is thanks to a change in approach from the town's authorities, tourist gurus and bar/restaurant owners - who've taken the basics of great weather and good airline connections, and added some brilliant late-night entertainment venues, excellent eateries and imaginative activity offerings that maximise the potential of stag weekends in this delicious-looking spot.
The newer, lively bars and packed-out superclubs add further appeal to this Spanish town - a place with a mixture of youth and age, mountain and beach, strip club and donkey ride. And, it works a treat.
Anywhere where you can still get pints for €1 is a yes in my book.
There are dozens of different sports, tours, events, excursions and reservations that we can set up for you while you're over there, so have no fear that if you choose to drop your stag weekend anchor in the Benidorm port, there'll be no complaints from the boys.
Bronzed Benidorm is a rejuvenating resort, ripe for stag night plucking. Things are polarised between two distinctly different beach areas - the stag and hen friendly world around Levante Beach, with its bars, clubs and restaurants, and the less manic Poniente Beach, where “more mature” holiday-goers flock the year round. This is a resort location with bags of appeal - a great mix of traditional Spanish culture and tourist-fuelled cheese. A place whose banging Old Town sits at the centre, and a town overlooked by some of the most outstanding mountains in Europe.
Close to several excellent amusement parks and home to a range of scintillating strip clubs, the Latin love of starting your night around 11pm and carrying on until sun up the next day sat just perfectly with us lot here, I can tell you.
