Overview
Bobsleigh on ice on this awesome Olympic track
Bobsleigh on Riga's only Olympic track. Set in a small village, just outside of Riga city centre, winter bobsleigh is held in Sigulda – the home of Latvia's Olympic bobsled team. There has even be a whole host of national and sporting events held at the centre – including two-man bobsleigh and skeleton, as well as men's and women's luge singles, and doubles.
This thrilling activity is a soft-shell version of bobsleigh, taking place on the epic 1,200 metre track – there'll be 16 curves and one bridge to navigate in your 'vuchko' (soft bob). The bobsled is made of soft padding and rubber, not piloted and taking five participants at a time. And, you'll each have two rides to hurtle down and take in the scenic views of the surrounding area, and Gauja National Park.
Your instructors are expert in the sports, and an English-speaking guide will also accompany your group to the venue. There'll even be private return transfers to get you there and back in one piece.
