The good thing about York is that it’s a pretty easy city to get around, so no matter where you stay within the city centre, you’ll be able to reach all of those essential hen party haunts easily. Our centrally located, hen-friendly hotels, hostels, apartments and town houses in York are hand-picked by us, due to their wonderful facilities, high rating, good price point and enviable position in the city. There’s not one hotel which we offer, that we haven’t fully tested out ourselves, just to make sure that it’s up to scratch for our hens. Whether you’re after spacious, 4-star apartments in the middle of the city, like Paragon Street Apartments or classy hotels right next to ancient landmarks like Clifford’s Tower and the Roman walls, such as Hilton York, Park Inn by Radisson and Travelodge York Central Micklegate, we’ve got something for absolutely every group’s tastes.
If you’re in need of retail therapy, The Shambles is an iconic place to head, with overhanging timber-framed buildings housing some of the city’s most quaint shops. Staying in the stunning Fort Boutique Hostel will position you right in the heart of this notorious spot, synonymous with York, meaning you’ll be able to spill out onto the streets in minutes. Towards the South Bank area of York, and extremely close to the central train station, you’ve got Ibis York Centre Hotel, Wheatlands Lodge Hotel and Elmbank Hotel and Lodge – all of which create the perfect backdrop to your celebrations, and mean you won’t have far to travel to drop off your bags and head out into the city. These three are also on the right side of the city for the racecourse, so if you’re heading for a fancy day at the races, these are ideal options.
York is quite a small city, but that’s all part of its charm. The ancient city walls encapsulate what is considered as the main part of the city, with all of the very best bars, nightclubs, shopping and entertainment going on within the walled area. Our hand-picked hotels are, on the whole, located within the walls, meaning you’ll be able to walk to those hen party essential facilities in minutes. However, the likes of Wheatlands Lodge Hotel and Ibis York Centre Hotel are slightly out of the walled area, but will only take you around 12 minutes in a taxi, or 15 minutes to walk to The Shambles, Betty’s Tea Room and York Minster. Paragon Street Apartments are also slightly out of the city centre, just south of York Castle Museum, but will take a mere 10 minutes to walk into the heart of the city.
We’re not going to lie, York is a very popular place to host a hen do, becoming increasingly so during York Races meets and Pride weekend. That’s not to say that all hope is lost and you’ll have to pay through the roof to get a room on these particular weekends, just make sure you book up early enough to secure your accommodation and avoid disappointment.
Should anything happen regarding your accommodation, you can rest assured that you are completely protected. We believe that you shouldn’t have to worry about the ‘what ifs’, which is why we want to put our customers at ease, knowing that they’re booking with an ABTA protected company (Y6354). This just means that in the extremely unlikely case of having problems with your accommodation, you won’t lose out.
