North London

The VIP North London area is overflowing with fabulous pockets of nightlife activity.

From classy Camden, to the sophisticated Angel and Islington areas – North London houses some of the capital’s biggest and best independent restaurants, cocktail bars and nightclubs. It’s a hot spot for hen party haunts, and is the perfect backdrop for your hen party celebrations.

Let's get started.

1. Jailbird

300 Kentish Town Road, Kentish Town, London, NW5 2TG

The interior of Bier Keller, Newcastle, with wooden benches and seats

Just off Kentish Town Tube, lies this indulgent little gem.

The former police station, aptly named Jailbird, has been transformed into a quirky basement bar. Celebrating its humble heritage, rooms which were previously cells have been transformed into intimate drinking spaces where you can chill out with a mouthwatering cocktail or two. Note: the ‘Killer Cocktails’ are devilishly good. If you fancy celebrating in style, doing a bit of bird lime (time) in the old ‘rusty nail’ (jail) – and practicing your Cockney rhyming slang – this one’s for you.

2. Little Bat

54 Islington Park St, London, N1 1PX

The interior of Bier Keller, Newcastle, with wooden benches and seats

“You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret – All the best people are.”

Taking its name from Lewis Carrol’s notorious Mad Hatter’s poem, Little Bat is an unrivalled and intimate haunt to grab an expertly crafted cocktail and party in Wonderland. Hosting ‘library’ and ‘museum’ zones, this idiosyncratic venue is different to anything else you’ll experience in The Big Smoke. It’s edgy, open-minded and doesn’t take itself too seriously - it’s the ideal place to celebrate.

3. Four Sisters

25 Canonbury Lane, Islington, London, N1 2AS

Celebrate dark, Dickensian decadence in the Islington gem, Four Sisters.

Just off Upper Street in Islington, the former brothel still maintains some of its original features – cosy corners, high ceilings and old-school mood lighting. It’s an experience like no other. Surround yourselves in vintage debauchery, whilst celebrating the building’s risqué past, with a glamorous cocktail in hand. And, with two cocktails for £10, every day from 4-7pm – your hen party kitty will stretch further than you think.

4. The Barrio Angel

45 Essex Road, Islington, London, N1 2SF

The elongated, travel inspired bar is one of a kind - a must stop on your North London bar crawl.

This unique bar celebrates everything street culture – from urban art to street music and everything in-between – you’ll never have seen anything quite like it. There’s even a fully furnished booth, housed within half of a retro-glam, 1970s caravan – where you can sit back and take it all in. With £5 cocktails ‘til 8pm Sunday-Thursday, and ‘til 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays, as well an extensive cocktail menu, this is a fantastic place to unwind.

A little shy of publicity, this one is a real hidden gem in North London.

With something new and exciting on offer every single day of the week, and a fabulous range of interesting music - Ladybird Bar lives up to the reputation which precedes it. The bubbly late night bar is an icon of Islington nightlife, and well known by visitors and locals alike as a creative cocktail chamber. With its impressive nostalgic interior and stunning Boticcelli-esque dome – it’s no wonder people are drawn here in their hundreds every week, to celebrate amidst the finery.
