In our latest instalment of ‘LNOF in’ we head to the western Polish city of Wroclaw (pronounced 'Vrot-swav') to test out the accommodation, activities and of course the vodka. From strip clubs to kayaking, we’ve got you covered on where to go and what to do on your weekend in this hidden Polish gem… it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it.

We take our research very seriously. Take a look at our findings from our latest expedition to the Polish city of Wroclaw.

ARRIVAL: Steak and Beer

Thurs PM

Landing in Wroclaw at 11pm, we had intended on checking out one of the city’s popular nightclubs, Insomnia, but instead the team opted for steaks and beer just round the corner from the apartment… The jet set lifestyle is tiring ye knaw.

We were seriously impressed with the vibrant nightlife that the North West of the city, had to offer, with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

Kayaking

Fri AM

With so many activites in Wroclaw to choose from, we were pleased to have chosen kayaking when our brilliant guides came to meet us from the apartment and walked us through the much needed fresh air to Gondola Bay for our kayaking tour. The tour let us explore the city from a completely different perspective and we even managed not to fall in as we took selfies.

Afterwards, we grabbed lunch at the award-winning Campo De Grill which specialises in Argentinian steaks (yes more steak), and soothed our aching muscles with a vodka shot or two.

Scavenger Hunt & Bar Crawl

Fri PM

We split into three teams and took to the streets for a scavenger hunt which had more cheats than a Russian Olympics team. With no way of knowing who truly won, we selected those who had definitely lost and made them wear the loser T-shirts.

After exploring the city by land and river, it was time to experience the city’s nightlife on a guided pub crawl, led by our fun and professional local guide Natalie. We definitely made use of the pub crawl’s deals, with a beers and welcome shots as well as drinking games and crazy challenges

Taking Pride in our Stride

So, we had intended on heading to the Aquapark located to the south of the city, but having lost count after our 10th bar or so the night before, we decided to nurse our sore heads at the Whiskey & the Jar Rock Bar where we enjoyed their signature cocktails and some belter rock music, before getting swept up in the vibrant pride parade making its way through the old town square.

All Aboard the Party Bus

SAT PM

At 9pm we headed to Bar Pewexx for vodka tasting with our local expert guide, who talked us through the various different types as well as telling us stories from communist era Poland.

The highlight of the night for us was the party bus , which was complete with a professional bar tender, DJ AND two bottles of vodka for the group. After hammering the shots and having a boogie, we arrived at the classic stag do destination of the strip club. For research purposes only of course.

In da Club

SAT Night

After parting hard on the party bus and in the strip club, we made our way to the final destination of the weekend at Grey Music Club

The club was amazing with loads of options on cocktails and local spirits. We made sure to taste test as much as possible which may be why we don’t remember a great deal from the night except some major Dad dancing and one very sleepy Will.
