Whisky Tasting

Whisky tasting is a super popular stag do activity in Edinburgh; we’d highly recommend the Scotch Whisky Experience & Tasting Session. You will embark on a guided tour of the brilliant Scotch Whisky Experience which will have you learning about all things whisky. Along the way you will view one of the world’s most famous whisky collections. The tour will finish with a tasting tray of 4 single malt Scotch whiskies with tasting notes.

Bar Crawl

Edinburgh has an impressive number of pubs and bars, which can make it tricky to know where to start. Our Private Edinburgh Bar Crawl is a really popular choice for stags because you get to benefit from the knowledge of a local nightlife guide who will take you to three bars. Frankenstein

You could mistake this bar for the set of a horror film, and we mean this in the best way possible. Frankenstein is a horror-themed nightlife venue, spread over 3 floors, that’s housed in a 19th century church. As well as its charmingly spooky décor, Frankenstein is known for doing big steins of beer. They also show live sports and do monster karaoke on a Sunday. It’s the perfect place to swing by for a .

The Royal Mile

The Royal Mile is the main street in Edinburgh’s Old Town. This quaint cobbled street has all sorts of shops, restaurants and most importantly bars! Highlights include the Royal Mile Tavern (a traditional pub with oak panelling and craft ales), Whiski Bar & Restaurant (serving 270+ whiskies!) and Greyfriars Bobby's Bar (found just off the Royal Mile, with the iconic Greyfriars Bobby's dog statue outside of it).

Outdoor Airsoft

is great if you’re interested in combat but want less pain (and mess!) than paintball. In terms of a combat scenario, this is as real as it gets. This airsoft takes place in a lovely woodland setting with plenty of obstacles to hide behind, as well as various game zones to tackle. You will shoot Airsoft M4 Rifles with 1000 BB pellets.

White Water Rafting

White Water Rafting might not be what you think of when you think of Edinburgh, but it’s actually one of our most popular activities. This epic activity will see you rafting 6 miles down the River Tay over grade 2/3 rapids. You'll tackle exciting rapids including the ‘Zoom Flume’, ‘The Washing Machine' and even the longest rapid on the river 'The Grandtully Rapid’. A professional instructor will be in every raft. This one is a little out of town, but you can upgrade to add transfers.

Cowgate

You’ll probably hear Cowgate before you see it. This loud and famous street is perfect for partygoers. In this area you will find Edinburgh nightlife greats such as Dropkick Murphy’s (a buzzing Irish bar), the famous Three Sisters (we have a whole section dedicated to this one later on in the article), Bannerman’s Bar (known for whisky, real ale and live music), and loads more! There are loads of bars all clustered around this area, it’s sure to get you in the party moooood.

It's a Knockout

It's a Knockout is a series of fun outdoor games based on the wacky It’s a Knockout show that’s a hit with stags. It’s basically sports day for adults, but weird. Games you could be playing include 10 Maids A Milking which is a relay race over/under the inflatable to the cow which must be milked to fill the bucket. There is also Penguin Pursuits is where you need to race to the cone dressed in a penguin suit. And that’s just to mention a couple of the games!

Comedy Show

Comedy is highly associated with comedy due to the famous Edinburgh Fringe festival that happens every Summer here. Going to a Comedy Show is a great way to get the lads laughing before hitting the nearby nightlife. You will enjoy three top acts and a compère. Attending a comedy show is one of our popular evening activities, so if you’ve got any comedy nerds in your group, get this on the itinerary.

Boom Battle Bar

If you’re looking to get competitive with your pals, Boom Battle Bar is the perfect place to do it. Found in Edinburgh’s New Town, this place is absolutely chocka with games you can play. Try your hand at Axe Throwing, Crazier Golf (like crazy golf but with things like catapults and conveyors), Shuffleboard and more. They also have a well-stocked bar here and tasty street food from small plates to juicy burgers.

Grassmarket

Grassmarket is a key nightlife area for stags. Found in the heart of the Old Town, this charming area has loads of independent shops, brilliant restaurants and a ton of bars that are worth your time. Pubs include The Last Drop, which is known for pints, pies and being rumoured to be where men went for their last drink before being executed (hence the name of the pub!). There is also Biddy Mulligans (a rustic Irish tavern) and The White Hart Inn (a pub that does live music, real ales and is supposedly haunted).

Three Sisters

This pub is so iconic it needs its own section. Found on the raucous Cowgate, the Three Sisters has a massive courtyard that’s always buzzing at peak times. Often they will show sporting fixtures here making it popular with stag groups. Venture inside and you will find the main bar, the live room (for performances), and Maggie’s Chamber (which has an Oktoberfest vibe). You can also do here!

Roxy Lanes

And last, but certainly not least, we have Roxy Lanes. Roxy Lanes is a bar that’s known as being the ‘home of booze and ball games’. There are lots of fun games you can play including and . They’ve got too making it a great choice for stags.
