Private apartments, budget hostels and high-end hotels - when it comes to accommodation for your stag weekend in Madrid, we've got this.
We've hand-picked five stag-friendly places to charge your batteries and/or dump your suitcase, so you can choose whether to take it back to basics in a hostel; seek a private apartment to sweat out your hangover, or splash out (and impress the future father-in-law) with a swanky hotel. Our options range from two to four stars, so you're bound to find something that'll suit everyone. Hostel La Posada de Huertas is one of our popular choices and, basically, does what it says on the tin: it's central and ridiculously good value, meaning your money's freed up for spending on the other, more fun essentials (we mean tapas, not strip clubs, obv). Plus, this joint's only a ten-minute walk from Puerta del Sol and amidst a shed-load of bars and restaurants. Dorms, bathrooms and kitchens are shared, there's free WiFi and, most importantly, no having to endure sleeping in the Mediterranean heat – air-con's included.
In terms of other choices, you've also got Cats Hostel to consider. Right by the lively Santa Ana Square and Anton Martin Metro Station, this is a great place for all the hostel essentials, and is also a favourite with night owls. Remember, Madrilenians are nicknamed 'cats' (more for their love of the social scene and staying out, rather than any kind of obsession with mice), so if rolling back to your bed in the wee hours after a full-on day of debauchery's the plan, get this place booked.
Madrid's 18 barrios (or 'neighbourhoods') stretch over 600km² and in the north east of the city centre in Moncloa-Aravaca, you'll find four-star Celuisma Florida Norte Hotel. Right by the Principe Pio Metro Station and overlooking the Royal Palace, you're only a twenty-minute ride away from the centre via Madrid's underground system, which is almost as big as London's. You can buy a ten journey Metrobus ticket for a little over €12; this ticket doesn't have an expiry date and it can used between you and your mates – winner.
Last, but definitely not least, is Apartamentos Serrano Recoletos. These modern serviced apartments come with a variety of options, but their junior suite is the one that will catch your attention. Suitable for up to seven, it's perfect for pre-drinks and has everything to help see you through a blurry morning, including air-con, Smart TV, oven/microwave for warming up those leftover churros, and a Dolce Gusto coffee machine on request. And did we mention it's only fifteen minutes away from the centre by the metro? Muy bueno.
LNOF's reserved room allocation across Madrid's accommodation choices means there's a great chance of landing the hotel, hostel or apartment that you've got your eye on. However, we're only human, so if the time of year you're planning to come is an especially busy time, or if plans aren't made with a realistic amount of notice for us to book it for you, we can't say for 100% the room's yours, though obviously our sales team will try their absolute best to sort everything for you without a hitch. In terms of the busier times of year, having two major football teams means rooms can means rooms fill up pretty quickly. Also, Madrid's Tomatina (that's their tomato throwing festival) takes place in late August (and yes, it's a real thing).
You most certainly are. Put any worries to rest because LNOF is completely CFTA protected and we've got the legal bods onside, meaning you and your money are safe if anything were to happen, ammodation-wise. Click here for a butchers at how CFTA affects your Madrid stag.
