Glasgow and Edinburgh might steal the limelight as far as Scottish clubbing destinations go, but Aberdeen should not be overlooked for your stag weekend. The ‘Granite City’ more than makes up for its name in personality, rich culture and thriving nightlife – keep on the lookout for trendy bars as you stroll through the historical districts and gardens, enjoying the beautiful architecture that’s sure to make a killer Instagram post. Take a trip to the quaint and cobbled Old Aberdeen and you’ll be gifted with a splash of green breaking through the grey, in the district described as like ‘stepping back through time’. With the city’s large number of clubs and bars, as well as the huge array of high-intensity sports and daytime activities, there really is something for everyone on an Aberdeen stag.
At Last Night of Freedom we believe that a stag do should be just as exciting during the day as it is at night. In Aberdeen that couldn’t be easier to sort out, with its vast host of daytime activities to get the pulse racing (or the drinks flowing). With Battlezone archery you’ll be pitted against each other in an all-out war of arrows – think if dodgeball and archery had a baby. If that doesn’t sound crazy enough for you then why not try the DTV shredder experience? That’s an off-road driving experience on a state-of-the-art, multi-terrain vehicle – again, think a military tank and a Segway had a baby, and you’ve pretty much got it.
Once you’ve had everyone’s adrenaline dialled up to the max, then it’s time to head back into town to relax. Our Lane7 bowling package will give you a proper welcome with drinks on arrival, followed by a 10-pin bowling game, pool or ping pong game, arcade tokens ad a buffet meal. Or for something with a little class, the Glen Garioch distillery tour will be the highlight of any malt whiskey fan’s weekend, and the perfect start to any stag night out (keeping it classy, lads). Impress the folks back home with your expert knowledge of the distillery’s small batch scotch as you learn about the process from start to finish, tasting as you go.
Or perhaps you want the full street-culture experience, in which case you should take a few hours out your weekend and follow the street art walking trail. Every year local artists are invited to splash a bit of colour onto the grey granite walls of the city, meaning that there are now enough beautiful murals dotted about for guided tours to have emerged. If you’re out and about in June then why not take a gander round the street food market for an amazing bite to eat. If either that or the vast number of independent restaurants tickles your fancy, then we offer a number of restaurant meal and drinks packages from well-known favourites such as Las Iguanas, Handmade Burger Co. and Revolution.
And lastly of course, there’s the nightlife. Aberdeen has many clubs, and we’ll get you guestlist entry and queue jump for the biggest – the Institute. This club has a fantastic sound system that’ll be blasting EDL tunes until the early morning. If you love the 80s and 90s classics then we can also sort you out for Club Tropicana and Venga. A great package that covers all bases is the Beer Babes Bar Crawl, where you’ll get two beautiful girls to show you around all the must see bars as well as strip club entry and a top nightclub to boot. Is there really a better place for a stag than Aberdeen?
