Ah, Cambridge – known as the city of the royals, culture and one of the brainiest universities in the world, Cambridge has a rep for being a little bit on the snobby side, so we’re here to show you why you shouldn’t count out Cambridge when it comes to throwing one of the best stag do’s your mates have ever been on. Yeah it might be a little bit fancy, but it’s also known for some outlandish outdoor sports, top clubbing spots and more than a few cosy pubs to knock back a beer or two with the lads.
Since Cambridge is known for being a little laid back, you’ll encounter plenty of friendly locals to have a chat with over a drink, and there’s a distinctly relaxing charm about spending a weekend here. Whether you fancy a spot of lazy punting up the river, or you’re ready for a delicious Las Iguanas 3 course meal and welcome drink, you’ll be able to relax and leave the work grind far behind you when you step foot in this city. Fear not, though – once the sun goes down, the city comes alive with luxury wine bars, quaint historical pubs and plenty of clubbing – they have to keep the students occupied, after all. Don’t dismiss Cambridge as one of the UK’s best stag spots – we promise it’s going to surprise you.
Party on the dancefloor till lateNow that we’ve rid you off your preconceptions that Cambridge is all stuffy professors, boring surroundings and not much to do in here unless you’re Prince William, allow us to show you exactly what Cambridge does have. Since the settings are positively picturesque, the city has made good use of them with plenty of amazing adventure sports and activities. For those of you who have a certain need for speed, outdoor karting sprint race will blow away the cobwebs and pitch you and the lads against each other in a race for first place. 4x4 off road driving is another ultimate way to get out in the great outdoors and blast through the muddy terrain as you off road through some of Cambridge’s usually peaceful countryside. Not content with all of these dry land adrenaline-rushes, the extreme water sports are a guaranteed pick me up after a heavy night on the drink, and will put you and the lads back on an even keel in no time.
Off road in CambridgeIf you’re more into friendly banter and competition than hard-core extreme sports, bubble football and goggle football are definitely the activity for you. You get to spend an afternoon trying to show off your excellent footie skills, whilst trying to fight off the side effects of playing in a giant inflatable ball or whilst wearing real-life beer goggles. Glow sports is a totally unique set of games played in the dark whilst covered in UV paint, adding in an extra challenge or two as you try to work out who your opponent is, and who’s meant to be on your side. To tap into some of that boyish charm we know you’re hiding in there, an old school sports day might be just the thing. Everyone can release their inner child and relive those glory days at school. Once you’ve settled some old scores and relived your youth, outdoor paintballing for the full day is the ultimate weekend finisher, getting you to use brains, brawn, tactics and accuracy to take down the opposition and come out victorious.
Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten our promise that Cambridge is a secret party town. One of our favourite activities for this stag do haven is the beer babes bar crawl. As one of the local beauties gives you and your stags a full guided tour around some of the best watering holes in the city, making sure you don’t miss a trick when it comes to those luxury bars and traditional pubs. Once you’ve been shown all the best bars in the city, why not move onto one of Cambridge’s best clubs with the Lola Lo guestlist entry which we can organise for you, so you and the lads don’t need to waste any time sobering up whilst you’re queueing.
