Ok, so we know you’re not having your stag do in Benidorm because of its cultural reputation, but you’d be surprised to learn that there are in fact some fun cultural activities you and the lads can try, in between sunbathing and drinking of course.
Plaça del Castell
Placa del Castell, 4-6, 03501 Benidorm, Spain
Visit the site of the former Benidorm Castle on this iconic terrace. Although the castle was destroyed in Napoleonic wars, tourists still flock to the site each year to take in some of the culture that this former fishing village has to offer. You may also recognise the top terrace area from the TV show Benidorm, as the restaurant that ‘The Oracle’ and Lesley had their ill-fated date after meeting on the internet.
Calle Santo Domingo AKA "Tapas Alley"
Calle Santo Domingo, 03501 Benidorm, Alicante, Spain
Although Benidorm can sometimes feel a bit like Blackpool with sunshine, there are little Spanish gems to be discovered in this party town. Take a trip down Calle Santo Domingo, better known as 'Tapas Alley' where you’ll find legs of jambon hanging over the primarily Spanish customers. These restaurants offer a slice of Spanish cuisine and culture and will open you up to an entirely different side of Benidorm.
Aqualandia
Sierra Helada, s/n, 03503 Benidorm, Alicante, Spain
Visit Website
What better way to cool off from the scorching Spanish heat than a trip to the famous Aqualandia water park? This may seem an unusual 'cultural' choice, but Aqualandia is actually one of the oldest waterparks in Spain – so it would be rude not to go and pay respect by riding down some of the huge slides, right?
La Cruz De Benidorm
Calle Taywan, 14, 03503 Benidorm, Alicante, Spain
For the active stag do visiting Benidorm, nothing beats a hike up La Cruz, an incredible viewpoint located to the west of the town, offering panoramic views along the beach and countryside. Eagle eyed viewers may also recognize this spot as the final resting place for Donald Stewart, played by the late great Kenny Ireland in the TV series Benidorm.
Benidorm Palace
Av. Dr. Severo Ochoa, 13, 03503 Benidorm, Alicante, Spain
Visit Website
Benidorm Palace is a stalwart of the Costa Blanca performance scene and is a night that you won’t forget. Going for more than 40 years, Benidorm Palace provides the perfect opportunity to get dressed up as well as an exceptional dinner and a show. The building itself is impressive, with reflective metal providing a spaceship feel, but inside, the 1,500-seat auditorium will provide you and the lads with a slap-up night.
Hotel Sol Pelicanos
Calle Gerona, 45, 03503 Benidorm, Alicante, Spain
Ok, you didn’t think we could write a guide about Benidorm and not PROPERLY talk about the multi award-winning TV show that ran for over 10 years? Although we’ve made reference to some of the memorable episodes, no trip to Beni is complete without a visit to Hotel Sol Pelicanos, AKA the Solana Hotel. You’ll spot some familiar sites around the now famous pool, which is in fact one of the biggest in Benidorm. Fun fact - one of our ground handlers was actually a speaking-part extra in Benidorm and still gets royalty cheques to this day. We don't actually feature the Sol Pelicanos in our portfolio but do have a fantastic range of other stag-friendly hotels in Benidorm.
Algar Falls
Pda. Algar, s/n, 03510, Alicante, Spain
Another famous scene from TV’s Benidorm, when Brandy (played by Sheridan Smith) stole dull Martin’s clothes and forced him to use a child as a shield, was filmed at the naturally beautiful Algar Falls. Enjoy the scenic journey through the Spanish countryside (about 9 miles) before arriving at the breathtaking waterfalls where you can take a dip in the natural pools (just keep a close eye on your clothes!)
The Island of Benidorm
Benidorm Island, Alicante, Spain
Standing on the famous golden beaches of Benidorm, you will no doubt notice an island not too far from the coastline. Legend says the island was formed by a kick of King Jaime’s horse in the 12th century, which sent a portion of the Puig Campana mountain into the sea. What we do know is The Island of Benidorm is today a nature reserve for endangered birds and can be visited via daily ferry trips.
Cena-Espectáculo 'Desafío Medieval'
Camino Viejo de Altea, 3, 03581 L'Albir, Alicante, Spain
Visit Website
Drink your beer by the flagon as you enjoy a live action retelling of the tale of Robin Hood. This action-packed dinner theatre allows you to experience the thrills and spills of medieval life while you enjoy some tasty grub. From jousting to sword fighting, the production value of this activity is exceptional and will leave you and the lads wanting more - this is 'joust' the beginning!
Benidorm Town Hall
Plaça de SS. MM. Els Reis d'Espanya, 1, 03501, Alicante, Spain
Locally known as the “floor scraper” due to its long and short nature, this building was built in 2003. The building, held up by four pillars, hovers over the road and acts a doorway into the green zone ‘L’Aiguera’ park. This building has gained interest from architects all over the word. If you look closely, you’ll be able to see metal slats covering the windows with names of over 60000 Benidorm residents from the year of completion of the building carved into them.

There are daily flights from almost every UK airport to Alicante, which is very big - in fact, it is Spain's fifth largest airport - and hosts around 15m passengers each year. While flight prices are rising, it is still one of the cheaper destinations in Europe with a one-way ticket starting from just £40.

Navigating your stag do in Benidorm couldn’t be easier, as much of the central town is easily accessed on foot. You and the lads will find it easy to track down the bars and get from A to B, but here is our easy guide to getting around, just in case you need a little help after a bevvy or two.
Situated on the Mediterranean coast on the Costa Blanca, Benidorm benefits from year-round sunshine with temperatures rarely dipping below 16 degrees except for the winter months. Benidorm is certainly a safe bet if you’re looking to celebrate your last night of freedom in the sun.
