Benidorm is like a sprawling metropolis of skyscrapers and fun bars, which means you’ll find something different around every corner. Although there’s fun to be had all across this golden town, you’ll find each neighbourhood distinctly different, with a plethora of experiences on offer. From the charms of Old Town, where you’ll find some of the best tapas this side of Alicante, to the bustling city centre which is the place to be on a night-time.

Old Town

Charming Old Town provides sweeping vistas of Benidorm’s famous beaches and miles of cobbled streets to explore. If you’re looking for a bit of Spanish culture on your stag do in Benidorm, then head to Tapas Alley, where you’ll be treated to some authentic Spanish grub, sangria and perhaps even some flamenco dancing. Old Town is a great spot to walk off that hangover and find a decent meal to soak up the alcohol.

This is the resort that almost never sleeps, with boozers open until 7am with The Square - Benidorm's infamous neon-lit strip - at the centre of the action. Visit the site of the former Benidorm Castle on this iconic terrace. Although the castle was destroyed in Napoleonic wars, tourists still flock to the site each year to take in some of the culture that this former fishing village has to offer. You may also recognise the top terrace area from the TV show Benidorm, as the restaurant that ‘The Oracle’ and Lesley had their ill-fated date after meeting on the internet.

Although we’ve made reference to some of the memorable episodes, no trip to Beni is complete without a visit to Hotel Sol Pelicanos, AKA the Solana Hotel. You’ll spot some familiar sites around the now famous pool, which is in fact one of the biggest in Benidorm. Fun fact - one of our ground handlers was actually a speaking-part extra in Benidorm and still gets royalty cheques to this day. We don't actually feature the Sol Pelicanos in our portfolio but do have a fantastic range of other stag-friendly hotels in Benidorm.

Legend says the island was formed by a kick of King Jaime’s horse in the 12th century, which sent a portion of the Puig Campana mountain into the sea. Locally known as the “floor scraper” due to its long and short nature, this building was built in 2003. The building, held up by four pillars, hovers over the road and acts a doorway into the green zone ‘L’Aiguera’ park. This building has gained interest from architects all over the word. If you look closely, you’ll be able to see metal slats covering the windows with names of over 60000 Benidorm residents from the year of completion of the building carved into them.

Stick with your pals so no one is wandering about Benidorm on their own

The Strip is very lively with people drinking so keep yourselves to yourselves to try not to get into any conflict

Getting Around Benidorm

Navigating your stag do in Benidorm couldn’t be easier, as much of the central town is easily accessed on foot. You and the lads will find it easy to track down the bars and get from A to B, but here is our easy guide to getting around, just in case you need a little help after a bevvy or two.

Bus

The Llorente Bus Company provides a regular service and has about 20 routes that connect the different points of the town and the surrounding areas. Tickets can be purchased on the bus and the cost of a general ticket is €1.55. However, for tourists that will be using this option frequently throughout their stay, there are more economical options for either 24 hours, 72 hours or 7 days use.

Bicidorm is Benidorm’s public bicycle transport system. We would recommend this option for when there is good weather and when you want to make small trips around the town, just don’t try it after a few bevs! This idea is becoming increasingly popular since the installation of miles of cycle paths throughout the town. This service is operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and you can purchase a day, week, month or even annual use ticket.
