Newcastle has always had more to offer than its stereotype of wild nights drinking by the River Tyne, where lasses gan oot with nee coats on. The city has re-invented itself in recent years with a major facelift and now holds its own as a buzzing cosmopolitan city, and we're still as football-mad as we've ever been.
But don't fret, pet - despite art galleries, music venues and award-winning bars and restaurants, our precious homeland has retained its broad smile, straight talking, shameless sense of mischief and unrivalled nightlife.
Newcastle is jam-packed with nightlife hotspots that are just perfect for a stag do. You have the notorious Diamond Strip (a term coined by the Geordie Shore lot), that’s packed back-to-back with trendy bars and clubs such as Howlers, Chachabuchi and Manahatta. There’s also the picturesque Quayside with lots of waterfront bars like Pitcher & Piano. Plus, the most notorious area of all, the Bigg Market! The Bigg Market was once rough and ready and now it retains that buzz, but it’s been revamped and there are a ton of new bars to explore.
