Let's get started.

Sandy Bell’s is a world renowned folk bar, nestled on Forrest Road in Edinburgh’s Old Town. The small, friendly local offers real ales and live music most nights. As with most Edinburgh pubs, you’ll also find an excellent range of whisky and traditional surroundings to settle into with a nice dram.

2. Greyfriars Bobby’s Bar

The interior of Bier Keller, Newcastle, with wooden benches and seats

Inspired by the tale of the infamous Skye terrier, Bobby, who faithfully watched over his owner’s grave for 14 years, this pub is a slice of Edinburgh’s history. Greyfriars Bobby’s Bar is a traditional spot through and through and is amazing for food. If you need a pick me up and some good old comfort food then try their haggis or fish and chips.

No stag do is complete without a trip to an Irish bar (no matter where you are in the world) and Dropkick Murphy’s will not disappoint. This lively bar is a great spot to catch the match and has multiple sports screens throughout the bar. Situated in Edinburgh’s vibrant Grassmarket district, it’s the perfect spot to visit whilst bar-crawling.

4. BrewDog Edinburgh Cowgate

The interior of Bier Keller, Newcastle, with wooden benches and seats

Brewdog is always a great shout and will shut up even your whiniest mate who only drinks craft beer. The beers they have on offer are always delicious and the casual industrial style of this bar adds to the cool vibe of the place. In addition to the lush drinks and trendy interiors, Brewdog also (boldly) claims to have the best homemade pizzas in the city. Sounds like something we’d be happy to test.

5. Bannerman’s Bar

https://www.bannermanslive.co.uk/

212 Cowgate, Edinburgh, EH1 1NQ

The interior of Bier Keller, Newcastle, with wooden benches and seats

This cool, grunge bar is a big hit with any rock mad stag. Showcasing live and loud rock bands every night, this is the bar to head to if you want to let it all out and have a bloody good time. Decked out in mismatched furniture with exposed brick walls, this place has a gothic rock feel.
