The Diamond Strip’s fun and trendy Howlers is a must stop on any night out in The Toon.


If you’re into getting up and dancing as well as having fun in a ball pit! Then this is the club for you. This is Newcastle’s only club with a ball pit, who wouldn’t want to live out a childhood fantasy and hop right in? Open ‘til late, this bar has LED lights everywhere and the atmosphere is everything. Howlers is the ideal place to see off your last days of singledom.

Right next door is the cosy, chalet style bar. ChachaBuchi is the perfect place to spend your night.


Whether you want a cosier, chilled time or still upbeat and dancing, ChachaBuchi does it all. The interior is like that of a traditional chalet with wood finishes, warm lanterns and cosy booths. Another jewel in the crown of the Diamond Strip is Mediterranean-inspired Verano.


This tropical paradise is the perfect place to host an almighty blow out. . Boasting a huge selection of alcoholic concoctions – including cocktail trees, loads of tequila and other summer classics– you’ll be spoilt for choice when presented with all of their drink’s menu. Verano is the place for summer loving people so you can absorb the summer vibes even in the unpredictable British weather.

Tup Tup Palace has earned itself the reputation of ‘Newcastle’s Premier Nightclub’ – and it’s no surprise why.


Within the last decade, Tup Tup Palace has burst into Newcastle’s nightlife scene – particularly since MTV’s Geordie Shore first graced our scenes back in 2011. With its exotic, eastern finery and indoor waterfalls creating a Boho backdrop to VIP parties and high-class nights out. Its privately serviced booths, elliptical champagne snugs and the world’s finest drinks brands have attracted the likes of Kanye West, 50 Cent, Cheryl Cole, Ed Sheeran, Example, The Saturdays, Ricky Hatton and Taio Cruz to namedrop but a few.

5. NX Newcastle

Live music is a Newcastle institution.


This grand, corner building started its life in 1927 as the New Westgate Picture House – and has run under various different guises until 2005 when it became the renowned O2 Academy that stands today. With two rooms that can host up to 2000 people, this venue has seen the likes of The Who and The Beatles historically perform, as well as more recently Arctic Monkeys, Sam Smith, Katie Perry and Adele grace its stage. The whopping concert hall also hosts massive club nights such as Dirty Pop, Alpha and Ikon Live.

6. Stein Bierkeller Newcastle

Beer and banter in the boisterous Bigg Market - it doesn’t take Ein-stein to work out that that’s a winning combo.


This cavernous, underground party venue is set over two rooms, each capable of holding up to 180 beer-swilling, lederhosen-clad party animals. There are long wooden benches, Bavarian beer maids and more live German music than you can shake your stein at – performed by the Oompah bands. Bierkeller actively encourages dancing on chairs and tables – so get ready for a good old knees up on your Bavarian last night of freedom, in the heart of Newcastle city centre.

Prepare to strut your stuff like an extra in a 1970s dance video – fancy dress ‘n’ all.


The loud, proud and ashamedly brash 70s themed disco bar is located in the rowdy Bigg Market area of Newcastle – and attracts locals and visitors in their droves to sample a slice of the 70s in a modern day guise. Playing feel-good classics, power ballads and cheesy tunes aplenty – resident DJs Mr Allen and Lorenzo make this bar the place to show your face. And, with heaps of drinks offers to please your pocket as well as your thirst – you can’t say no to a night in Flares.
